Let's hope so.

These oligarchs must be pretty unhappy at having their assets frozen.

I have been privileged to see Colonel Oksanchenko display twice at the Royal International Air Tattoo (2017 & 2018) and it is quite possibly the best Air Display I've ever seen.

RIP Colonel, we can only hope that your sacrifice and that of many of your fellow Ukrainians brings peace to your country.

So the Russians are telling people in Kyiv to leave, meaning they may level the city in the coming days.
They've been hitting more and more civilian targets in various locations too, with the usual nonsense to justify it, it's getting worse.
How do people hold Russia and Putin to account for war crimes already committed, a madman doesn't care about consequences. Scary stuff.

FT are reporting a phone call between the Ukrainian & Chinese Foreign Ministers quoting the Chinese FM as saying they "deplored" the outbreak of conflict and that they are "extremely concerned about the harm to civilians".

It's very unusual for comments like that to come from Beijing.

The Russians started blocking Twitter in Russia a few days ago. Lo and behold the torrent of anti Trudeau tweets and anti Biden and Democrat tweets has collapsed.

Twitter is a cesspit for many reasons. We'd be better off without it

Video of what looks like another thermobaric bomb being detonated

Apparently a Chechen hit squad sent in to go after the president and prominent figures have been dealt with.
Ukraine have also said that Russian intelligence have provided information to them, which I could believe.

I have to say that I am astonished that Putin has gone 'all in' on this one. There is no way back now for him with the majority of the worlds opinion and actions reigned against him. What is it that has taken him to the point of no return, where even natural allies have turned against him to a large extent, and yet, he has ignored everyone, and forged ahead.

I know people have it in for RT right now, but some of the output there points to events - particularly over the last 8 years - which I certainly remember at the time, and are facts rather than merely Russian propaganda. France 24 has sought to give both sides of the story a hearing too! I actually feel bad for Macron (I know .......sorry!!) He has lost credibility now, having at least tried to broker a solution.

It is possible you know to - on the one hand - oppose Putins' actions, while at the same time analysing the timeline of events that got us here, and which - at least in part - show that the events over that time, give some legitimacy to Russia's concerns/complaints - without justifying his orders to go to war - and the subsequent military action in any way!!

CNN BBC etc, are just as susceptible to giving a slanted western view, without seeking to give the other side of the narrative. I just do not buy the mad/bad Hitler portrayal that has sprung up - much less the mental state of mind Putin may be in thanks to isolation etc. That - to me at least - is fairy dust land!
