I get the feeling the draw is opening up more for Ronnie than anybody else

Poor old Dominic Dale 8-1 down to Kyren Wilson. Oh dear.

Tie of the round is close after the opening session with Lisowski leading Ding 5-4.

However he trails Pang Junxu 4-5 after their opening session Sad.
Glad it went closer. Pang's easy to under-rate, but I'd obviously hope Big Bob gets through, he's got the quality.

Last year's surprise semi-finalist Si Jiahui is at it again, holding his nerve to put together a frame winning 77 break to beat Mark Williams 10-9 in a thriller!

Sorry Mark.
My fault for tipping you to make the final laugh Snooks be a predictive curse Tongue.

I predict.......someone will win Tongue

That makes six of the seeds gone.

Robert Milkins survived an epic struggle against Pang Junxu to scrape home in a deciding frame. He faces David Gilbert next.

Ryan Day leads Barry Hawkins 5-4 overnight in their first round match.

I reckon Gilbert will make it a close one against Milkins

This match was an example that it is not always the top quality snooker that offers the best entertainment. It was a reminder that even at this level you only have to be slightly off for it to all starts to look a bit average, & closer to like us mere mortals play the game, making it more relatable. I enjoyed the contests & the obvious struggles of both players.

Result:
Kyren Wilson (12) bt Dominic Dale 10-1

Demolition job to be honest.

Result:
Jack Lisowski bt Ding Junhui (7) 10-9

It always looked like tie of the round and it delivered. BIG TIME.

I was ready to accept Big Bob losing but it was nip & tuck all the way, and he was only in front at the end. A shame for Pang, but he'll be back for bigger and better things.

Kyren was on a 147 in his final frame but broke down at 88.

Hope Lisowski doesn't roll over in his next match.
