Niners are still banged up, but fighting hard, offense struggling to get it into the End Zone. Défence step up with a pick 6 from Warner & follows it up with a crucial stop on 4th down.

After watching the Ravens dominate the Bills last night I think that this could be the year when they might just get their act together in the Playoffs. Still one of 4 teams to have never played in a Super Bowl along with the Browns, Lions & Texans.
Being in the same conference as the Chiefs doesn't help their cause. The Chiefs are statistically below average this season in some key areas, Mahomes numbers are uninspiring, yet they are unbeaten, all their experience counts in close games. The injury to WR Rashee Rice is a blow for them.
Jackson looks to have matured at QB, & in Henry they have a powerhouse RB, built like a tank yet clocks 20+ mph, just tough to stop. The defence kept Josh Allen in check which is no easy feat.
With both the Bills & Steelers suffering defeats, the Chiefs remain the only unbeaten team in the AFC.
In the NFC the impressive Vikings remain unbeaten despite a spirited fightback by the Packers. The Seahawks have an opportunity to keep their own unbeaten record going when the visit the Lions tonight 01.15 K/O.

An improvement by the Niners, although against a poor Patriots team. Purdy & Shanahan seem to be tweaking the usual conservative yet complex West Coast Offence taking a few more deep shots. I didn't like the Aiyuk pass which was thrown into double coverage & resulted in an int, although the Kittle TD was a jump ball with 3 defenders on him, I guess you have to gamble at times, especially given the drop-off in Red Zone efficiency, still having to settle for far too many field goals, at least Moody was 3 from 3 although he doesn't seem to possess the 60+ range that is becoming more of a regular occurrence. Still more Special Team mistakes with a fumbled return, they need to sharpen up in that area. The Guerendo fumble is more of a concern given that he is the back-up RB to Mason who had another solid game. His workload is unsustainable with the sad faced McCaffrey watching from the side lines not due to return until November at the earliest.
The O-Line struggled at times with Purdy forced to scramble far too aften, although it is an area which he excels.
The D- Line coped admirably in the absence of Javon Hargraves, regular rotation of the front 4 seems the way to go.
This year really is the last shot at a credible punt at winning the Super Bowl, the upcoming Purdy pay-out will see many veterans moving on.
There could be tougher times ahead for the franchise, & I already feel that the best opportunities have been lost with cracks starting to appear, going back to the well again seems a bridge too far.

Tennessee at Miami and Seattle at Detroit tonight.

Hoping that Seattle can at least make a 3.5+ point spread and stay in touch to a field goal..

Delighted my ravens finally got a win after the narrow losses to start the season was just surprised by the size of the margin

Lions 42 - 29 Seahawks
Both QB's impressed, Geno had 56 attempts, Goff just 18 all completions, 2TD's no Int's & even had a rare receiving TD. The Lions got off to a 14-0 start which gave them the edge. The Seahawks had 2 turnovers & failed to convert on 4th down in effect turning the ball over. Offensive strategy is based around the duo of RB's Montgomery & Gibbs, their production opens up the passing game for Goff. Geno had no running game in the first half, which reflects the need to go pass heavy. The Seahawks were able to get their running game going in the 2nd half, but being behind the game required them to rely on Geno.
An entertaining game which is often the case when these teams match up.

^^ By comparison the Dolphins Titans game that was played at the same time last night, just poor.
