I understand that the newly elected Labour government in Westminster has inherited a right royal mess. But, at least give us some hope that things will improve.

There are Labour MP's who say that they will abstain in today's Winter Fuel Pyments vote.

But there a few of them who say that they will vote against it.

The Labour Government are not releasing the impact report on means testing the winter fuel payment until after MP’s have voted on it. How are MP’s supposed to make an informed decision without all the information being made publicly available?

Labour’s plan to cut winter fuel allowance for all but poorest pensioners passes by 348 votes to 228.

If you'd like to see how your MP voted...

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/winter-fuel-payment-vote-map-b2610292.html

Remember, they were voting on a Conservative motion to block means testing, so a "No" vote means they've voted against that motion and to actually means test the Winter Fuel Allowance

As for my local MP, he's voted for means testing. His father was our Family GP for many years and I'm reasonably confident that he's spinning in his grave right now.
