Agree that is class from Roman & I'm not a football fan

RE: Chelsea FC - HannahsPet - 10-03-2022 09:50

OH FUCK !!!

RE: Chelsea FC - Charlemagne - 10-03-2022 12:22

It's as though Roman was tipped off that he was going to have his assets frozen. bladewave

So the sale of the club has been suspended but the government are still allowing for Chelsea to continue to play their matches.

But the freeze will stop Chelsea from signing any new players or from signing new contracts with their existing ones. And this is in place until the government withdraw the freeze on Abramovich's assets.

RE: Chelsea FC - dirtytommy - 10-03-2022 12:41

shouldnt think RA needed tipping off - with his mega paid lawyers and even man on street could see it coming, his genourous gesture was merely an attempt to save himself. club shop closed, no further ticket sales. Players will end up not being paid and leave Big Grin

RE: Chelsea FC - HannahsPet - 10-03-2022 14:12

Nah players can be payed if they are in contract. no new signings or even buying new tickets its a right mess

Why do i feel it will be sold of to a dodgy mate of Boris for a lot less than its worth or even Rishi's father in law

its a right fucking mess when it didnt have to be

Chelsea statement:

"Chelsea FC has been advised that its owner Roman Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK Government.

Chelsea FC would normally be subject to the same sanctions regime as Mr Abramovich. However, the UK Government has issued a general licence that permits Chelsea FC to continue certain activities.

We intend to engage in discussions with the Government regarding the scope of the licence. This will include seeking permission for the licence to be amended in order to allow the club to operate as normal as possible.

We will also be seeking guidance from the UK Government on the impact of these measures on the Chelsea Foundation and its important work in our communities."

Bidding expires tomorrow

RE: Chelsea FC - shaun blue - 19-03-2022 11:56

Well the number of potential buyers is apparently unprecedented. Never before have so many bidders tried to buy a football club or any sports club of any kind. With all these people wanting to be the owners of Chelsea let's hope there's a really fantastic one in there, although it would be hard to be a better owner than Roman Abramovich has been.

Disappointing result tonight it'll be a hell of comeback in 2nd leg

RE: Chelsea FC - chelsealion - 07-04-2022 20:38

Disappointing result against Real Madrid and now the process to sell the club has been extended by a few days, which is something we didn't want. The sale may drag on for a while. Even though the Madrid match was a poor result we created (and squandered) numerous chances.
