How does everyone rate the players then?

How does everyone rate the players then?

Hart 8 - Made many decent saves, pretty fautless bar the shootout
Johnson 6 - Either brilliant, or painfully awful, mostly the latter. Best player vs. Italy
Terry 8 - Best defender, make some great tackles, blocks, headers, interceptions etc. although got some of the basics wrong
Lescott 7 - Solid if unspectacular, opposite to JT
Cole 7 - Good, but didn't offer too much attack-wise
Milner 4 - Lacked quality in final third, but worked and had to babysit Johnson
Parker 5 - Looked well out of his depth, but showed great spirit
Gerrard 8 - Inconsistent in general play, but his brilliant crossing carried us from an attacking perspective
Young 4 - Biggest dissapointment, best England player over the last year or so, vs. Ukraine was his only half decent game
Walcott 6 - Best individual performance vs. Sweden, but not much else, although to be fair he didn't start any games
The Ox 6 - Good experience for the lad, great prospect
Rooney 4 - Not fit, Carroll should've started over him
Welbeck 7 - Done well, couldn't of asked for much more
Carroll 7 - A threat when he played

Hodgson 8 - Taking everything into context (time, injuries, JT/Rio situation, overall quality of the squad), he's done a very good job in my opinion.

England should stick with Hodgson he did good with the limited time he had only mistake was going with an out of sorts rooney.

England definately did better than expected they deserve some credit, they've gone from shocking in 2010 to decent in 2012 i know its not what you guys expect of them though why i don't know they don't exactly have form.

The Hodgson era has been good progress for such a short space of time so there is every chance that come 2014 the team could be in good shape.

The deeper problem is that England suffer a chronic lack of quality coaches at the youth development stage. Kids in Spain are coached by some of the 23,995 Spaniards who hold UEFA’s B, A and pro badges. Italy has 29,420 and Germany 34,790. England has just 2,769. That’s a huge gulf.
What’s even more staggering is that there are 2.25 million registered players in England against just 408,000 in Spain. It's not about the quantity its the quality

England vs. Italy last night, 2 Leeds flags...

May not seem like much to you Premier League club supporters but we are proud.

Super Leeds.

I see sometimes a St George flag with the Aldershot Town badge in the middle (normally at Wembley though to be fair) I kept an eye out for it over the tournament but hadn't noticed it.
Most the flags are "smaller" clubs or non league sides that I notice. Although the presence of PL sides is massive. The closest to ATFC I saw last night was a flag saying "FLEET" which is about 4 miles from me.

Did anyone read in the papers about an England fan who pulled his pants down, waving his cock to distract the Italian player, who scored the winning penalty?Bounce

The general consensus is that Roy did ok given the hand he was dealt, but when Sven took over part way through the 2002 qualifiers we'd lost at home to Germany, drawn with Finland, were five points adrift in our WC qualifying group and it looked as if we'd struggle to make the play-offs.

If anybody had offered us then that the play-offs wouldn't come in to it because we were going to win our qualifying group, beat the Germans 5-1 over there and only lose 2-1 to Brazil in the quarter-finals because of a goalkeeping howler from David Seaman we would have bitten their hand off and hailed Sven as a genius, but look what happened to him.

The first four WC qualifiers this autumn (in the space of a month) are home to Moldova, away to Ukraine, away to Moldova and home to Poland. We should get at least ten points out of those games but we all know what a poisoned chalice the England manager's job is and it will only take a couple of bad results for Roy to be in the firing line.
