is there any way of recording the stream? noticed the 'security' still seems to be on to stop you. is this permanent? if you join the site can you record off there? remember a while back that was blocked as well. very frustrating. thanks to all those who are posting vids from sky.

If you read this thread you'll see this has already been covered, but anyhow here's the current state of play as far as I know :

There are typically two ways of recording a stream like elite, 'record' mode or 'download' mode.
Most of us used to use download mode, which took the rtmp stream and downloaded it directly, which allowed you to browse to other sites or close the browser completely once the stream was recording, and even allowed the free stream to record without the time-outs.
The only way to record now is in 'record' mode, which basically captures the stream being played in your browser window. This means you have to have the stream active in a browser tab all the time you are recording. It also means that when the stream cuts off, the recording stops.
With the free stream, this makes recording a pretty pointless exercise since you only get a minute or so at a time. If you join the website, you get a 30 minute cut-off, so recording is still viable, though you'll need to sit watching it to keep re-activating it after the cut-off.

To put your recording software into 'download' mode, check the settings, there should be an option in there somewhere.
