What's the betting on two fronts righr now :-
1) Amorin to be sacked before end of season?
2) United to be relegated?

RE: Manchester United FC - HannahsPet - 23-12-2024 05:48

dont see either happening unfortunately Tongue Tongue

its prob what is needed to get rid of all the shit players and do a proper rebuild

I reckon It's more of the case that: A) the players just can't be arsed to play for whoever manages them, or B) they are not even bothered about the prestige of just playing for United.

To me, all it seems to be about is them getting their fat pay packets each week and they aren't that bothered about their performances. Thereis no way they are even giving 100% effort.
After yesterday's game those players need their bloody arses kicked very hard and need to start looking at themselvses hard in the dressing room mirror. Not only that I woild not be surprised if they start playing in a nearly half empty Old Trafford for the rest of the season if they continue like this - that would be a big wake up call for ANY team. That defeat at Bournemouth has to hurt. I may not be an United fan, but they have to really start answering back the critics with far far better performances and attitude, they are showing that they are not even capable of performing and turning this around, and they shouldn't be paid until they DO start performing.

Amorin isn isn't likely to survive till end of season if they carry on like this. If he can't inspire them, who can? At the moment that front door at Old Trafford is a busy revolving one for managers. I'm wondering if it's becoming a more poisoned chalice than the England job was.

Ar least half that team needs to be kicked out on their arse at the end of the season and they should just re - build over the summer and bring players through their youth tesm or use half their women's team.

As for Chris Sutton thinking he's crap? I reckon he's still reserving jusgement until after Boxing Day. He'll probably label him crap then.

And on the whiole it's not been a good footballing weekend for Manchester.

been looking at the 89/90 team that they are being compared to and blimey that team would have destroyed this one

had Bruce and Pallister
robson, ince , Lee sharpe

forwards Mark Hughes, Brian Mclair , Mark Robbins

even with the likes of viv anderson , Neil Webb

Add into that the infamous 'class' I don't think there is little doubt that however talented team thinks they are thdy now have to srep up and reallyu showwhatthey can do to even hold a candle to the Fergie teams.

Amorim has said that he know if things don't improve soon he would be worried. I hear the players applauded empty away seats at Wolves as most fans hasd left!!

RE: Manchester United FC - Whynot - 27-12-2024 20:31

You have to rebuild from the back. Two new goalies, new left wing back, one more centre back to replace maguire and lindelof. Stop conceding self inflicted goals from goalie errors and defensive ineptitude!

RE: Manchester United FC - lovebabes56 - 29-12-2024 19:14

What's the Ave age of this team - must be around 27 maybe?

I think they make far too many errors that even a schoolboy would do They make no real effort to wing the ball back, therer's just no real effort sometimes. I may not be a United fan, but I am just wondering what they actually are doing on the training pitch. I would say they have to look at finish in the top 10 as a realistic target.

But it's what's going on behind the scenes that I think that is beginning to attract headlines and probably will do for a while.
I watched Mark Goldridge's youtube channel just to see how he would react after that Wolves defeat and I have to say it was pretty scathing.

I'm wondering just how much confidence there actually is amongst Fans that Amorim can even turn it round at this stage. I would not be too surprised if Amorim ends up admitting the job is far bigger than he actually thought it was.

I reckon the Glazers probably pumped very little into upgrading Old Trafford that the rebuildfng costs are probably way bigger than the fans are actually told. I would not be surprised if Sir Alex tore the owners off one when he heard his ambassadorial role was axed. And as for cutting the funding for Ex players - that is shocking.

RE: Manchester United FC - lovebabes56 - 01-01-2025 08:42

NO business in the January transfer window bu United is not a good sign.... plus they are set to announce (I think) a £130m loss

RE: Manchester United FC - lovebabes56 - 03-01-2025 17:08

Apparently (Whether it was true or not - I'm sure one of you guys will confirm), I see a report saying Rashford turned down a £35m move to Saudi.
With some respect to him, I can understand why he probably did - as he probably felt wouldn't be happy there.

But I just wish he'd stop and think for one minute, that if he was to start fighting for his place probabaly Amorim might show a little leniency. But I still stand by my thought that Amorim probably could walk away or walk out at the end of the season. A heavy defeat at Liverpool Sunday, could even accelerate that decision and show that his recruitment was probably one that he probably might have regretted making.

When I look at the situation at Man U at present, it is certainly does look litke a situation that's clearly demonstrating that the era of PL manager who stay at long time at one club, have long gone, and owners are now far, far more concerned with a manager delivering quick success - rather than longetivy and I do think United have cooked their own goose and probably the quality of manager they can attract probably has dropped a level or two - same with players.

I get the feeling that there is now maybe a power strugggle going on within and it is one that INEOS & Ratclifffe may not win. Even if Man U were to be relegated - I highly doubt it will force the Glazers or even force INEOS & Ratcliffe out but I suppose the only possible plus side - it may finally force them sort out the financial side of things a little better.
