Now personally I don't really give a fuck about that channel closed down or not as I never watched it but other people did and the principle of the matter remains the same that we are supposed to live a free demacratic country like you say eccles, what does baffle me however is that the babe channels don't have a political agenda, they are nothing short of pure fun and harmless entertainment, I also have my theories on Ofcom closing down Press TV, was it Ofcom or were they ordered by the Government to do so, nonetheless this country is getting more and more like George Orwell's vision of 1984.

Yep if this carries on, I'll feel like I'm living in a socialist regime, I like you pay my licence fee, and we all get treated like shit? Where's are democratic rights to watch what we want in the privacy of our own homes? And i agree, it seems Ofcom has a personal and politcal agenda with the coalition government. There is definitly more to this than meets the eye here!!

I've come to the conclusion that the BBC is Ofcom and Ofcom is the BBC as when was the last time you seen a porno on the BBC or anything remotely erotic for that matter Big Laugh

The last great erotic thing on the BBC was a so-called lesbo drama called Tipping the Velvet in 1998 and it was absolute pish after all the much hyped up publicity it recieved, so if the BBC did porn it would mostly be pish!!!!!!!!!!!laugh Sorry if this is slightly offtopic, almost forgot to say - Fuck Ofcom !!!!!!Big Grin

I think we shouldn't get too carried away in defence of Press TV, which is the authorised mouthpiece of a repressive government that, were we required to live under its control, would give us far less freedoms than we enjoy living in the UK.

Its a TV channel that exists only to broadcast Iranian government propagander without criticism, and much of it is pretty vile stuff (holocaust denial, anti-semitism etc). It's 9/11 stuff is just laughable.

My enemy's enemy isn't always my friend.

i watch press tv and i find what you have described as unrecognisable....i mean for one if there was holocaust denial on there under european law you would go to jail even if you had undeniable proof you would go to jail, anti semitism? ....i know what your trying to say anti israeli or anti jewish but if you look it up actually mean anti arab.....and come on what news channel worth its salt is not anti arab?.......what gets me is this crusade of american racism and greed is never investigated fox news and the lies to rally wars and false elections and hate speak that comes out of that tower of evil but i guess morality always has a price tag......bringing it back to ofcom and how its ok to watch tv if you pay 5 pound a night for it then its legally, morally ......quite ok.
