RE: UFC - mitchell - 10-04-2011 11:17

I was just gonna post it myself, it was a good 4min 55sec but I wanna know why big John was eager to stop the fight at the first inkling of Daley being in trouble yet Diaz was down twice with big J not even battering an eyelid...bladewave Surely he knew there was only a few seconds left & could've given Daley the chance to recover, yeah people will say he was probably finished but he would've had the time at the end of the round to recover & he also had Diaz down twice so Diaz may not have gone straight for it in round 2 giving Daley another minute or so to recover.

Paul Daley only has himself to blame for not waking up today as the Strikeforce welterweight champion as usual he was too eager to throw his fists as soon as he got near Diaz, he had him down in the first minute & just started to throw instead of picking his shots thus doing more damage & giving the ref time to realise the champ was in a bad spot, he could've also taken the back of Diaz but chose to ease off, it was same the second time with him just wanting to swing for the fences.

I wouldn't mind seeing the interviews after the fight to see how Daley felt with regards to the stoppage & to see if Diaz spoke about the possibility of a UFC return as he has said he now feels his Strikforce belt is pointless, GSP v Diaz.... YES!!! Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Gilbert Melendez v Tatsuya Kawajiri, lightweight championship.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 10-04-2011 11:38

Totally agree mate on the stoppage. At first i was livid that it was stopped so close to the bell. The ref wasn't interested when Daley had Diaz in trouble. But watched it again and Daley had to be lifted and placed on a stool by his cornermen and doctor,he was well gone for me.

Daley's gotta be kicking himself 2day.Diaz was there for the taking and had Daley chose his shots better and kept a cool head when he had the Champ in trouble he could have stopped him.

These are the kind of fights everyone wants to see and would pay good money for.Let's hope White and co see this and get Daley and Diaz back in the UFC.There's some great fights in that division waiting to happen.

I can see a rematch between the two under the UFC banner...Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part....?

Yeah he looked out but was he or was he just gutted that he lost his big chance??? Thats why I wanna see the interviews.

Yup the same from me but I don't see Daley back in the UFC anytime soon as Dana will see it as a first round loss & think fuck him he can stew with the best of the rest in Strikeforce till I feel otherwise, I also think Diaz would approach it differently if they did fight again, like I said I can see Hardy v Diaz before the end of the year, it's a shame the current series of TUF are welterweights or.... Well you know.

This is all i could find from Diaz post fight.

Found this interview with Daley.(Doesn't look like he'd been in a fight.)Interesting Interview.

Nice one with the interviews groundnpound mate, good to see Daley being 100% honest although I don't buy the 'slip' at all, like he said after it was probably the result of an earlier shot but he's spot on with the 3sec in a championship bout bit, I'd like to hear what 'Big' John McCarthy has to say on the matter.

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 11-04-2011 13:36
