RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - GMach1 - 09-01-2019 22:10 As the new film Stan and Ollie(Steve Coogan & John C Reilly) opens it reminded me of several people that portrayed Laurel and Hardy. One such 'duo' was former Goon Show star Harry Secombe and all-round entertainer that sadly died of leukaemia through tobacco smoke inhaled at clubs through his trumpet-playing, Roy Castle. He and Harry portrayed the duo in a special they did for Harry's show. Hanna-Barbera also created a series of short cartoons starring Laurel and Hardy (in fact double acts featured quite a lot in their stable of characters such as Breezly and Sneezly, Lippy the Lion & Hardy Har Har and of course Tom and Jerry) RE: Fascinating Facts and Trivia - Carl-Gen X - 09-01-2019 22:12 Tom and Jerry was the original name of Simon and Garfunkel.
