Fully agree. Captain Tom Moore deserves some sort of honour in the next honours list.

See as well as expected the lockdown is continuing for at least another 3 weeks. Do think though that after this next 3 weeks the lockdown will then gradually be eased as the number of cases seems to be flattening & the deaths figure is gong down. Last week it was approaching 1,000 now it’s around 800 for the past few days

The death figures lag behind new infections by up to 2 weeks. It's a significant drop in the Infection Rate that will be the trigger for easing the restrictions.

I don't think we should go easing restrictions until we are sure that we have the testing/contact tracing infrastructure to allow it. We went from one case in January to 100K+ cases & 13K+ deaths today because this thing spreads, and I am using technical epidemiological terminology here, like a motherfucker.

A stroke of genius. Let's get some dodgy foreign workers shipped in to help our farmers.
Fuck sake.. Is there any sanity?
All the good work will be pissed in the wind.
I fucking give up. Sad

^ I mentioned the same story on a different thread, as it is not related to the virus. Lets get things straight. These are experience fruit pickers, your demeaning comment is unjust. A lot of them are uneasy to come to us.

After watching a report a lot of British workers have been found, and the workers will also be used as trainers.

There was a documentary a few years ago where a British farmer was persuaded to employ 3 Englishmen to pick asparagus alongside and supervised by his foreign labourers
All three professed to be so keen to start.
One didn't turn up, one never grasped the concept of 'cut them 8'' long' (which was the length of the knife) and the third wanted to talk all the time, 'when's tea break, let's start a union'.
Their conduct and absenteeism predjudiced the foreigner's work too and the farmer said he was only keeping the two men on because of the contract with the programme makers.
The two men maintained that their work was every bit as good as the foreigner's work even with the evidence in front of them.
At the end of the programme only the talkative one was left and in a voiceover the credits we learnt he stopped attending too.

A cure for the corona virus was expected between 12 to 18 months. But there has been a couple of steps forward recently.
It is now being said that we are expecting the vaccine to be in production by September (Available to most by the end of this year)
Now in the US they are saying that an experiment antiviral drug Remdesivir has just had a successful clinical trial in Chicago. Further tests are being carried out.
