Lionel Messi will report back for training after having had just one week on holiday. Since the end of the season he has clocked up somewhere around 90,000 miles attending various footballing engagements. Having just completed these he is now left with just one week to himself. A recipe for burnout perhaps?

Obviously told to go on the tour and pretend to get injured thus not creating a media frenzy had he not gone on the tour. Interesting to see where he goes next.

Best headline of the day, 'Immobile signs for Torino'. He sounds like the sort of player we used to buy pre-Fergie

Reports now suggesting that Rooney is claiming that United are effectively trying to get rid of him through 'constructive dismissal' as he was told he would only be the main striker if RvP was injured. Apparently United turned down a Chelsea offer of £10 million cash plus Mata or Luiz. If Rooney wants out so badly then best get him a taxi!
