No, it's still giving the wrong link to the thumbnails. Sad

Plus, it's going to take some getting used too, seeing the full size image and the thumbnails all on the same page as well. Confusing. Important

Plus the Filename already exists on this server problem is still there Sad

ImageChunk seems to be getting more weird with the errors - using BB Code it now seems to add at some apparently random point into the URL part the escape sequences of %E2%80%8B
These are not present in my filenames as I upload them, and also don't even appear in the code when you cut/paste them from the site after uploading. But they're there nonetheless ???

As an example, the cut/paste of
PHP Code:
[URL=http://www.imagechunk.com/viewer.php?file=babestationxtreme_20100720_babestationafterhours_amberleigh_and_sugar_part1_sample1.jpg][IMG]http://www.imagechunk.com/images/babestationxtreme_20100720_babestationafterhours_amberleigh_and_sugar_part1_sample1_thumb.jpg[/IMG][/URL]
seems to generate a URL of with extra characters of %E2%80%8B added
PHP Code:
http://www.imagechunk.com/viewer.php?file=babestationxtreme_20100720_babestationafterhours_amberl%E2%80%8Beigh_and_sugar_part1_sample1.jpg
which gives a MySQL error. Remove the offending extra characters and it works. But they're not even there in the original code cut/paste from the site after uploading.

I'd really like to support and continue with this service, but with so many issues around No ThumbNail, having to edit everything, and now this new issue, I'm inclined to give up and move on...

RE: ImageChunk Problem - aceman65 - 22-07-2010 21:35

Thanks Dirk, I can't say I spotted that one, as I tend to copy and paste the individual links into a text document, then edit them up so the thumbs display with the correct code.

Then when I have a finished set of thumbs done, I post them here.

But I will have to double check that BBcode in future.

Cheers.

Well I'm not 100% convinced this isn't an issue with this site and not with ImageChunk at all.
Posting thumbnails in another forum worked fine, whereas using the exact same code here didn't, and caused a no thumbnail picture and the url corruption of the extra % escape sequences.
Trying the process via basic text files and via 3 different operating systems, and at least 3 different browsers, all have the same issue on this site.
Also tried using ImageBam instead, with similar issues.

So either I've got a problem on all my machines of exactly the same corruption or whatever, or in fact it is this version of MyBB on this site that is causing some of these issues for myself and others....

Well having searched the web a bit, it would appear this issue of the extra characters of "%E2%80%8B" being inserted has been known about for a long time and relates to the word wrap code within the parser. It isn't fixed, nor does there appear to be a fix. So with long filenames or links etc, this will fail Sad Looks like 99 characters is the maximum...

RE: ImageChunk Problem - aceman65 - 24-07-2010 20:20

The No_Thumbnail link does seem to be an ImageChunk problem. Because if you check the images in your albums, the link code to the thumbnails is the same for all of them, and points to the No_Thumbnail.jpg. Even on images that were uploaded 6 months ago.

I think you are right with the filename length problem though. As they seem to be inserting the hexadecimal code for characters it's not certain of. Like the "&" symbol, which it replaces with the full word "and", but then the rest of the link gets corrupted.

But it seems too coincidental that all these problems occurred right after Georges last major overhaul of the site. Which he announced on here.

RE: ImageChunk Problem - aceman65 - 30-07-2010 16:49

Well, it seems as if ImageChunk is just not interested any longer in even attempting to fix it's problems. Sad

I have had no response in over a week from either ImageChunk or George.

I will continue to use it for the present, but that is not going to last for much longer if they don't pull there finger out. I'm only persevering with them because I know how to correct the code errors to make them work, but it takes me 2 - 3 times longer to construct a post with ImageChunk images within it.

I will however, no longer be including a link to their site within my posts, until they get it fixed. My patience is starting to wear thin, and unless things are done, and done soon, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

RE: ImageChunk Problem - TheWatcher - 02-08-2010 09:29

I cannot see any imagechunk pics at all.
Is the site down?

RE: ImageChunk Problem - aceman65 - 02-08-2010 09:46

It certainly looks like it's down. Sad No images displayed, and no access to the site. Sad I'm hoping it down for maintenance, to fix these damn bugs. Smile

RE: ImageChunk Problem - skully - 02-08-2010 10:25

It's back now and the images seem to be loading a little quicker than before.
