The picture quality improves if the flashing phone number box immediately below the player window is also blocked with adblock plus. Smile

Might be why I dont notice any problems... treated myself to an Alienware laptop recently, and it's a bit of a beast... I'll get the guy who made the flash ads to try and redo the ads (not that it matters to you now).

As for the stream, its probably different to before as I was doing all the encoding settings from memory and may have got some different to before

Alot of the flash ads will be replaced with jpgs, pngs or animated gifs (not really fast ones either) either tomorrow or some time this week. Also adding a stand-alone player for the stream (which just has stream, phone number and show title)... this should be going up tonight or tomorrow as well.

PS: Should be ordering some of the parts to upgrade the streaming machine this week... its currently running on a somewhat crappy PC which may be the cause of some of the re-buffering at times. The machine it used to run is in pieces on my desk at the moments Tongue

Does this mean we will be able to see the legends channel online soon. Don nt have sky so this will be the only way to see it.

RE: Some screenshots - BBLackey - 11-08-2009 10:45

The number of streams we have all depends on how many capture cards we order, and what type... I'll keep you posted

I've changed some of the settings on the stream this morning, let me know if this has improved any of the buffering problems (but Ive mentioned elsewhere that we're using a temporary machine for now). I'll try and tweak the machine more so you may notice some downtime on the stream if I'm having to restart it.

All working ok this morning @ 11.15am, even with the animated graphics displayed.

When I first went to the site, the player did not start automatically. I had to click the black area and click the play button. Tried it later and it started automatically.

I like the stand alone player. That worked perfectly on clicking LAUNCH PLAYER link.

Well done. We just need some sound now. Smile

The player not starting automatically seems to affect the graphic designer as well, but upon clicking play it works (guessing this may be due to buffering withing the Flash player rather than the stream).

I can get audio back on the stream, as before, but would need to install sound card drivers on the machine... this would still only be audio off a CD and no mic moments. I'm going to be disabling any unncessary services on the streaming machine today to avoid any unncessary memory/CPU usage ... and will look to getting sound back on.

Just as an observation. Would it not be better, if you were going to add any extra data at all to the stream, to put it toward tweaking the video side rather than adding a bandwidth expanding audio track that would, in effect, have no helpful relation whatsoever to the picture (as you mention there would be no sound from the mics themselves ). Now if there WAS mic sound, that would be another matter.

I'm not sure if anyone else agrees, but hey, I couldn't pass up this opportunity to give some input. Anyway, I'd probably be happy with whatever we ended up getting.

Apart from that, thanks for all your hard work on getting the stream up and running this far.
