Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of culpable homicide. The court has been adjourned and will resume later for sentencing.

Seems going by reports that Oscar can now continue his athletic career. And this is after being found guilty of taking a life. Looking more like its going to be a slap on the wrist for poor Oscar. Money talks more than justice it seems. Just days since they were saying Oscar was a broken man, just wait, Oscar will bounce back. Still what goes round comes round Oscar.

The sentencing hearing is now in ongoing
A social worker witness in the Department of Correctional Services, has said that Pistorius should undergo house arrest, rather than a prison sentence. And he suggests Pistorius could undertake 16 hours of community service a month; for example, at a museum or a Hospital.

Perhaps he could do something special in his community service. Maybe he could be forced to run around a race track. More proof that those with connections and money answer to different laws from us ordinary folk

The judging is delivering the sentence now.
She's given him 5 years in jail for the culpible homicide.
Oscar's also been given a suspended sentence of 3 years for the firearms offence.
Both offence to run concurrently

I'm not sure she's right in saying that was fair or appropriate, I think that is an absolute joke.
People get much longer sentences for crimes where a life hasn't been taken. He'll be out in 10 months.

Ten months, as the experts think he'll spend in prison, doesn't sound much when you consider the trial has lasted for twice that long.

My initial thought was 18-24 months, which is still ridiculous and isn't justice.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree there. The Paralympic Committee have banned him for 5 years.
Most likely his running career is over.
