I'd take Clarke without hesitation and give them Bairstow in exchange.

Bairstow's played a handfull of tests and he's improving along the way .Clarke maywell be Australia's most effective batsman but he doesn't make any big scores that change games .As for his captaincy he's way out of his depth .Your opinion Cosmonaut and I'll respect it though .Think Bairstow will take the wicket keeper/batsman role from Prior sooner than later .

Well done to England on taking a 2-0 lead in the series, only weakness in the side is at the top of the batting order, sort it out lads.

Root is one of the best talents in the World. Cooke and Trott are two of the best batsmen around. They can't score tons every time they bat.

I agree with you but they just seem a bit to eager to score early rather than take time to play themselves in,Although Root has been brilliant i just wish Pieterson and Cook had had a lot more time playing for counties before the series began, also i would drop Bairstow and get Morgan back in.

Its nice to see Ian (bowled for a duck) bell prove me wrong and actually score some quality centuries when it really matters.Top lad always had potential but seemed to struggle a fair bit under pressure but this is the new Bell this is Bell V1.1

England have spent the last 10 years investing heavily in team development and it has paid dividends. Their policy of bringing in youngsters and sticking with them has worked perfectly and they have not been afraid to drop senior players when their time has come to an end. England have lots of exciting young players coming through, Root and Bairstow are just the tip of the iceberg. Australia on the other hand have got things completely wrong, keeping faith with the old guard and not giving their young players a chance until it was too late. It will take the aussies another 20 years before they are a serious threat again.

Australia pace bowler James Pattinson is out of the Tour & will return home with a stress fracture or the lower back.

Australia's seam bowling unit is fine.
What they are lacking is runs from the top six batsmen and a quality spin bowler.
Clarke cannot do all the work himself and captain the side as well.
The batsmen need to step up.
This being said England have not exactly been on top of their game and yet they are 2-0 up already.
There are worrying signs for Australia right now but as an Englishman its nice to know the boot is on the other foot for a change Wink.
