I'm a bit surprised it was only 37.8 in my area, as Heathrow reached 40.2 and it isn't that far away.

In London the night of Monday-Tuesday saw the temperature fall to 26C, which was at 4am on Tuesday. If the temperature reached 30C in Scotland it means that your daytime temp wasn't much different to our nighttime temp.

Temperature was 36.4c in the shade here on Monday, 34.4c yesterday and the nights were a sweaty hell on Earth.
Today after heavy rain this morning the sun is shining, a nice refreshing breeze is blowing (as opposed to the hairdryer like one of the previous two days!). Every window wide open getting that heat out of the house.
Relieved it’s over.
