it's harsh. i'm sure most at celtic would agree. but what good are rules if you don't enforce them?

RE: Celtic FC - Fernandez Esperenda - 12-08-2014 23:08

I just think that they should have come to some kind of better conclusion, afterall it was an administration error, it's not like legia were trying to cheat in any way and i doubt the club would risk this by fielding a bad player on purpose, I think they genuinely didn't realise their mistake, and they did really win 6 - 1 over 2 legs.

Maybe they should have Replay the 2nd game again or just wipe away Both legs and Play 1 neutral game and the winner goes through, that way Celtic would have another chance and Also would Legia to make up for their mistake.

I think both sets of fans would agree to this too.

Legia Warsaw's appeal is being heard on Wednesday morning.

they should just have a penalty shootout, or play a 45 min game

Celtic forever taking the moral high ground. Should stand them in good stead when those "harsh" penalties are awarded against them in coming season and that goal was clearly offside. Establishment conspiracy.

^^^ Rolleyes

RE: Celtic FC - harri - 13-08-2014 12:35

celtic should not be allowed through simple as that they lost and the guy was only on for 4minutes for legia? they should just fine Legia and suspend that player for few matches

RE: Celtic FC - terence - 13-08-2014 12:38

it doesn't matter if he was on for 4 mins or 4 hrs, the rules don't distinguish. they broke the rules and got their punishment. simple.

okay ... lets put a scenario in ...

champions league final same incident occurs...

lets say Madrid win 5-0 in final and puts a ineligible player on for 90secs at the end ... does that mean they lose the trophy and other team wins it?

RE: Celtic FC - terence - 13-08-2014 12:49

yes, if that's the rules!
