More wickets for England in the afternoon session but India's innings has survived until the tea interval, which they have reached at 125/9. Dhoni has again been India's main man with 65 not out.

India 148 all out. Dhoni made 82 and the rest of the Indian side got 59 between them (plus 7 extras).

England managed to reach 62 without loss..
Captain Cooke was lucky not to be given out LBW-- twice

At lunch on the 2nd day the scores are level with England on 148/1. Robson was the man out for 37 this morning and as an England opener he hasn't been convincing for me. He has a century this summer, but overall is only averaging 29.9 and has struggled more often than not.

I still can't understand why Alex Hales hasn't been tried in the England team. Either as an opener or lower down the order.
He'd frighten the life out of the opposition bowlers

India found some response to their dire situation as they took 4 England wickets in the afternoon session. Cook was dropped twice at first slip before a 3rd edge in 8 overs was finally held. At tea England are 246/5.

The last session of the day was England's as they moved on relentlessly to 385/7 at the close, with Root 92 not out.

When India finally get Root out it was found that Sharma had strayed over the bowling crease.
So Root's still their at 110 and England are 431 for 8

England are all out for 486 with Root left 149 not out. About the no ball, Sharma bowled a succession of no balls yesterday without any of them being called, so it wasn't a big surprise that he was found to have overstepped with his ball that bowled Root. Sharma still took a creditable 4/96.
