You won't be saying that if at the end Of the season WestHam win the league with today's signings playing an integral part in the campaign!!!!!
Could be witnessing a start of a dynasty.
Got to dream ain't yeah.

Don't think that statement was totally pointless even if he were wrong in regard to your affiliation with Man Utd.
There are plenty of people who live over here who support various American football teams. If for example you grew up watching American football and supported the patriots I'm sure the Americans would find that a lot more reasonable than bring born and bread in georgia and supporting them.
Like wise with the football. I think if you live in Australia or Ireland for example and support Man Utd that totally reasonable. Even if you are a born and bred Londoner it's fine if you support Man Utd if it is passed down through the family.
It's the people who are born and bred londoners or other areas with no ties to Manchester what so ever, that support Man Utd that are most people's target for ridicule.
I have a very close friend who supports Man Utd. He would not be able to point out Manchester on the map. Believe me we never get tired of reminding him that, especially after a few pints. The fact that 1) he never gets defensive about it and 2 he passionately supports his local team Concorde rangers saves him from further ridicule!!!!!!!!!!

I on the other hand use to support real Madrid but they were crap last season now I support Barcelona!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joking aside I have supported WestHam all my life and have suffered 4 relegations with them. Not won a trophy for 35 years. Part and parcel of being a football fan.

In all straightness mate, how many United games gave you actually been to? I bet you I've got more cows than the number of times you've been to Old Trafford.

ManU's statement on the De Gea comedy show :

Over £800,000000 spent yet there weren't any what I would call " WOW " signings, just a load of ordinary players moving for ridiculous money. When a striker with just 9 goals in 52 games is supposedly worth £36000000 then the game has truly lost the plot.

re the MU / RM debacle:
MU didn't want to sell De Gea. RM let Ramos lead MU on for ages including letting them think it would be a two way transfer while they sorted out a new deal, and have been tapping up DG for months along with Mendez to the point he refused a contract and said he wants to leave. But RM didn't put a bid in until the last day so they could get him on the cheap and didn't sort out the Navas side of it. Whoevers statement you believe, MU owe them nothing & can afford to lose £20M. If RM had really wanted him, they would have paid the price weeks ago. It would serve them and DG right if he spent the season in the reserves & loses his place in the Spain team & then finds RM don't want him anyway.

re West Brom / Spurs
Spurs left it too late & Peace has said from the start that he wasn't selling as it was too late to replace him. Spurs have carried on and tapped up Berahino to the point he put in a transfer request. It was refused & he's still under contract. Even if Peace would have sold, Levy's dealings have been rediculous - not meeting the asking price and his best offer was a minimal downpayment with add-ons. If Spurs had really wanted him they would have paid the price weeks ago. As for Berahino - if he doesn't want to play for the club he's (well) paid by and contracted to, he shouldn't play for anyone.

So two wealthy, top clubs - RM & Spurs both fucked up transfers, and both unsettled players because they didn't want to pay a fair price but wanted to try to screw the selling clubs & buy on the cheap. Neither have any Class & both deserve what they've got.

And once they've finished their hissy fits, I hope DG & Berahino realise how little RM & Spurs thought of them, that they weren't willing to put in a fair bid in time for the deals to be done - thats how much they were wanted.

How do you decide what counts as a fair price?
