24/48 hours on I still think he should have taken Drinkwater instead of either Sturridge or Wilshere. FFS Drinkwater players for the champions and has been consistent ALL season!!
It would have been nice to have seen Roy acknowledge the champions a little more.
Maybe those days when the champions could provide several players to the England set up are gone. Our defence has to do their jobs properly or we'll be up against it. I think if the line up against Portugal tomorrow is as close as we'll get to the line up against Russia, then I pretty much think that the defence will be unchanged from the game against Australia. I just hope Roy makes Rooney man mark Ronaldo (if he plays).

I think Hodgson wants to stay loyal to the players that helped England qualify even if it us at the expense of form players. Though Noble I think his loyalty is misplaced. Playing for your Country should be a privilege not an entitlement. fact is Wilshire has no form what so ever even f he does have undoubted pedigree.

Based on last night's match against Portugal, I'd say that if Rooney's going to play then Vardy should be left out of the starting 11.
