Another stodgy performance by England and hardly a convincing way to qualify for the World Cup, but the 1-0 win over Slovenia confirms England as top of their group with a match in hand.

Southgate just isn't the man for the job, the football is dull and uninspired, good job the officials didn't spot the obvious penalty that should've been given to Slovenia.

I wouldn't say it was dull and inspired I think it was football for insomniacs last night and that a polite as I can get

That alone probably shows how much better prepared other national teams and how ruthless they are with weaker teams than us - Spain could be getting back to somewhere near their best I feel every time we play from one game to another we go two steps forward and two steps backwards. If this the best we have for 2018 then providing we get a decent group draw (and one we can get out with a game to spare), we could make it past the group stages then lose to Germany.
