Most girls are self employed and therefore contract their services in to the channels. The girls dont have employment rights but they may have contractual protection (though I suspect their are termination for convenience clauses which would allow Xpanded to kill her contract either immediately or within a defined period for any reason they choose.

Even so this could be a huge moment for the adult industry in this country as a whole...

I suspect the IR35 laws on self employment will do that in any event. So they will end up having to be treated as employees. Not entirely sure what happened to Stevie though can anyone elaborate?

There's no chance of that happening. The girls wouldn't want it. It would destroy their own business model.

If self-employment in the adult industry became a thing of the past it would put an end to things like OnlyFans.

^What i was trying to say was that when you look at uber drivers being given rights it is right that glamour girls/channel babes had rights and protection from the sort of situation Phoenix is in.

You won't get her and Stevie Lou as they are part of the Union. Smile
(I can't see it happening)

But I hope that they can come to an understanding with Xpanded.

Phoenix has said she's going to the papers on her twitter now

RE: Phoenix Knight - Chat & Discussion - Rokk38 - 01-07-2021 00:53

good luck to her on that, but not sure the papers are going to be bothered about what pretty much boils down to a pay dispute.

She's gotta stop listening to the twitter crowd and retweeting them, suing for defamation of character, seriously how? They haven't said anything to anyone but her, shes defamed her self. Lost a channel, coincidence? erm yep.

There's obviously more to this than just the one side were hearing.

RE: Phoenix Knight - Chat & Discussion - lovebabes56 - 01-07-2021 06:25

I would daresay the loss of the channel is a coincidence nothing more than that as I believe it was sold but it also was the channel Phoenix often broadcast on, but I would say going to the papers probably is a risky as could back fire on her if she is not careful.
We all know what happened the last time this came to light on twitter/social media. I believe the support the girls had then on twitter was strong enough to force XP to back down and I think Phoenix does need more ex XP girls from that time to back her up to do the same thing.
