Swiatek is in one semi-final, Gauff is in the other.

Swiatek Versus Gauff - IT'S ON!!!!!!!!!!

Props to Trevisan, the unseeded lass whom Gauff beat in her semi-final.

Leylah Fernandez, of losing to that final to Emma Raducanu fame, seems to be doing better than Emma is.

RE: French Open - rustee1 - 02-06-2022 21:39

As well as Emma did to win it, I’ve never seen anyone swing from the hip like that and everything land in, plus the draw opened up like crazy.
I can see her career going a similar way to Bouchard now the fame and money has rolled in so early

Gauff has made the final of the Women's Doubles too!

Nadal made the final after Zverev came a cropper Sad

RE: French Open - Snooks - 03-06-2022 21:26

Casper Ruud will play Nadal in the final after a four set win over Marin Cilic.

He becomes the first Norwegian man to reach a Grand Slam final after a 3-6 6-4 6-2 6-2 triumph.

Do we know the extent of Zverevs' injury?? looked horrific. Class from the man to make it back on to court to thank the fans too. No surprise either, but pure class from Rafa throughout even staying with Zverev until he left - presumably for scans - (the appearance of a moon boot is rarely a good sign) - My god how some other sportsmen could learn a lesson from Rafa.

You don't usual expect the final of a Grand Slam to end 6-1, 6-3.
20 year old Iga Świątek beat Coco Gauff.

RE: French Open - KerrAvon - 04-06-2022 15:53

^ especially considering Coco didn't drop a set at Roland Garros until today. But Iga is a machine now, just that much better than anybody else at the moment. No shame for Coco just 18, she done well this tourno. If she works on her forehand and serve she'll be a force.

Zveverev has torn several lateral ligaments in his right foot. Which doesn't sound nice, to be honest, and hopefully we will see him play again in US, but a lot depends on recovery time and I guess it means he is out of Wimbledon.

Rafa is one of those rare sporting icons who shows respect to his opponents and when something like that happens is always there to help. I respect him more after this. Just shows how humble he really is.
