RE: ICC T20 Mens World Cup 2021 - William H Bonney - 11-11-2021 13:49 New Zealand were 110/4 with 4 overs remaining, making their target 57 runs to win from only 24 balls. Mind you, England's score at the same stage wasn't that much different, 119/3. RE: ICC T20 Mens World Cup 2021 - Boomerangutangangbang - 11-11-2021 15:00 ^^ The focus has to fall on the 17th over. Jordan got his execution wrong. He was way off. I didn't agree with the round the wicket tactic to Neesham, he made it easier to hit leg-side. To make matters worse he bowled 2 wides. Jordan's job is to bowl the tough death overs, he gets it right more often than not. He had the added pressure of being the only genuine death bowler. Woakes is at is best in the Powerplay, Wood bowls well through the middle overs. I would've liked Topley at the death, or Tom Curran. This would've given England some flexibility. They looked to have got away with the lack of bowling options, with Livingstone doing a fantastic job, but they still lacked a couple of overs from a genuine death bowler. The selection was flawed, given that Billings didn't get a bat, & Morgan faced just 2 balls. That suggests to me that they didn't go hard enough with batsmen unused. Six batsmen should be more than enough in a T20, Woakes will hit boundaries & Jordan can clear the ropes. With Australia missing out last year, the will host in October & November 2022. England do need to give some younger bowlers a chance. Injuries haven't helped. If Archer ever gets fit, he's a shoe-in. Mills was unlucky & can still offer a lot in T20. Garton needs to be given a go. Mahmood should be playing in all formats for England now. Even these players aren't young anymore & we need to find the next generation. RE: ICC T20 Mens World Cup 2021 - Boomerangutangangbang - 14-11-2021 09:55 Not the Final many predicted, but we had 2 good Semi Finals & hopefully today we get a close game. My heart say s New Zealand who deserve some luck after the close call against England in the 2019 World Cup (50 over), but my head says Australia have peaked at the right time & look strong. New Zealand will have to do without Conway, who broke his hand after he hit his bat after his dismissal against England. RE: ICC T20 Mens World Cup 2021 - hornball - 14-11-2021 15:03 Was beginning to look like NZ would stagger towards a mediocre total. Now K Williamson has changed the momentum in the space of an over!! 97 2 now with 6 or so overs remaining. Williamson is streets ahead of everyone on the planet in my pinion! Worth the entrance fee on his own more often than not RE: ICC T20 Mens World Cup 2021 - Boomerangutangangbang - 14-11-2021 15:59 Final - Dubai Australia won the toss & elected to field New Zealand 172-4 Williamson 85 Guptill 28 Hazlewood 3-16 Australia 173-2 (18.5 overs) M Marsh 77 no Warner 53 Maxwell 28 no Boult 2-18 Australia won by 8 wickets RE: ICC T20 Mens World Cup 2021 - Snooks - 14-11-2021 20:32 Boooooooooo |
