Yeah I must admit I am pleased for Robert Milkins. He needed that win.
Needs to sort out the miscues though.

With many of the top seeds out, Mark Allen and Ronnie O'Sullivan, vying to be King of the hill, didn't want to get knocked out by a qualifier.

Mark Allen trying to get over the line survived a Robbie Williams recovery by getting a 114 break to win 10-6.

Ronnie, with Steve Davis sitting in the studio, played a very Davis like game. Controlling the exchanges and putting together workman like breaks. When he did let Jackson Page's genie out of the bottle, Page got a 142 break, but apart from that Ronnie dominated and leads 8-1 at the end of the first session.

Result:

Ryan Day bt Barry Hawkins (15) 10-8

Yet another seed bites the dust.
Half the seeds out in round one.

John Higgins leads Jamie Jones 5-4 overnight and they play to a finish tomorrow evening.

Happily Hawkins is out Smile Just Tubbs to go.

Higgins top 16 place is in the balance. Jack Lisowski's victory pushes Higgins to 18th in the provisional rankings. Merely beating Jamie will only restore Higgins to 17th in the provisional rankings because Ryan Day and Robert Milkins both won so just one victory is not enough.

Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.
Maguire must go.

Booooooooo hiss and rhubarb to Maguire.

Not that I'm obsessed or anything

Maguire must win
Maguire must win

That's my mantra for the next round anyway.

Apparently there is a feud between Maguire and Murphy known as Chalkgate. 20 years ago in the Grand Prix Maguire forgot his chalk and had to go back for it. He was about 40 minutes late for his match with Murphy. Maguire alleges he was docked a frame because Murphy pressured the referee into doing it. Murphy denies this and says it was the referee's own idea. Referee Johan Oomen is dead so he can't be asked. So we only have each player's word about what happened, but there is an increased rivalry between the 2 players because of it.

Nope I can't have Maguire winning.
Not even against Murphy.

Not even against Lord Scum of Cuntyworld or Admiral Arsewipe of Armageddon or President Prickturd of Pooville.

Maguire must lose bladewave

This is hilarious.
Allan Taylor doing impressions of snooker players with Neil Robertson and Joe Perry trying to work them out.

The ones of Shaun Murphy, Peter Ebdon and Ricky Walden had me in absolute stitches.
Wind it forward to 5 mins 32 seconds.
Soooo accurate BounceBounceBounce

Pleased about that, Day started at 5-4, Hawkins swept to 8-5, and Day swept back. Also, Hawkins gone.

2nd round starting already.

Result:

Ronnie O'Sullivan (2) bt Jackson Page 10-1

A resounding win for Ronnie.
He faces Ryan Day in the second round.
