Good news lads Smile

http://www.mmatorch.com/artman2/publish/UFC_2/article_9097.shtml

Can see this being Nottingham rather than here to be honest, with Dan Hardy lined up to fight.Delighted that were gettin another show.A good chance for everyone to get some tickets!

RE: UFC - mitchell - 20-04-2011 23:39

I can't see Dan Hardy fighting in the Capital FM Arena & then getting cut after another loss (Should it happen) so it looks like Dana wasn't bullshiting when he said "I fucking love this kid", if he fights infront of 10,000 in Nottingham it will still probably be 10 times louder than the 55,000 set for GSP & the Rogers Centre.

EDIT: Just noticed, Chicken salad Big Laugh Big Grin

RE: UFC - groundnpound - 25-04-2011 11:32

Nate Marquardt is gonna drop to 170 pounds to fight in the Welterweight Div lads.GSP suggested the idea to him and he decided to go with it.

He'll fight Anthony Johnson at UFC on Versus 4 on June 26.

Yoshihiro Akiyama will fight Vitor Belfort @ UFC 133 in August.

A fight between Rogerio 'Minotoro' Nogueira and Rich Franklin has "Verbally" been agreed for the same card.

RE: UFC - mitchell - 25-04-2011 12:54

This is what Nate Marquardt had to say, "Actually, he (GSP) brought it up to me," Marquardt told ESPN.com. "He asked me what I was walking around at and said, 'Wow. You should drop to 170.'

"I was like, 'I don't know. You're the champion there. I want to be a champion.' He told me not to worry about it, that if that's what is best for me I have to do it. I didn't even think about it until he said it. Once I went back to my own camp, it made sense to me."

"He told me not to worry about it"... Mmmmm!!! Marquardt then went on to say.

In regards to someday fighting St. Pierre, Marquardt continues to remain vague in his public statements. He does, however, believe his teammate is headed toward a fight with middleweight titleholder Anderson Silva.

"Honestly, I'm not thinking about it and if it's ever an issue I'll deal with it then," Marquardt said. "I don't know if [St. Pierre] is planning on moving up but I definitely know he's considering fighting Anderson. I think that's a great fight and I think he has the perfect style to beat a guy like Silva."

I think the drop makes sense as it didn't look like he was gonna get another title shot & the only fight I could see him having was against Michael Bisping & even that didn't look like happening. Anthony Johnson will be a good test in his first welterweight fight & Marquardt will be a big test for Johnson in his rise up the ladder.

I honestly thought Vitor Belfort would fight Michael Bisping at UFC 134 in Brazil but thats obviously not gonna happen now, god knows who Bisping is gonna fight next as according to MMA LIVE the other night Chael Sonnen's date with the Nevada State Athletic Commission has been posponed, here's the latest.

Sonnen planned to go before the Nevada State Athletic Commission on April 27, 2011, to clear up some unresolved issues with the commission and to re-apply for a fighter's license in the state, but his status as a convicted felon has interfered with that. There is a motorcycle rally held in Clark County, where the commission hearing is held, during that time and a mandate forbids convicted felons from entering the county during that time. Sonnen will instead meet with the commission sometime in May.

One rumored opponent is Alan Belcher 16-6 (UFC 7-4), If Bisping is thinking about a title shot then this along with Jorge Rivera isn't the kind of opponent he should be fighting, unless the UFC are waiting to see Chael Sonnen's outcome next month which is more likley so they can get Bisping v Sonnen set for the next rumored UK card UFC 135 October 15, 2011, eventhough this would mean a 5 month wait till the fight both fighters would enter a 6 to 8 week training camp so late May till late July early August would be filled with promotion for the event/fight & we know what type of promo these two would bring to the table, that would be worth the entry fee alone!!!Smile
