Telly audiences have been declining for years - that's why catch-up figures are included later to give a "truer" picture, although without data from every house in Britain, it's never going to be all that accurate.

If I were to make a complaint, it would be with the main film - what was the point?
Circles Wrote:It had a feeling to me like they had reverse engineered the old shows to find out what all the essential TG elements were, made a big list, then tried to shoehorn as many in to the new show segments, thinking that must guarantee success, without stepping back to see if it actually scanned as a decent bit of tv.
This is a very good point, and ties in with the usual critical mis-judgement about the old show - the silly challenges almost always had some good reason for them, such as testing a new car. The Reliant race didn't work because LeBlanc either had no knowledge or inclination to fix the car, and because the Reliants were super-imposed. Maybe this was more honest than "we found these cars ourselves" but it makes the presenter look lazy or stupid.
The Jeep/Land Rover race was also futile - UK v USA, but what for? This really was mucking about in cars, something the CHM days really didn't do.

OK, maybe that's a long complaint. But apart from that... laugh

Fair enough comments mate, I bet if they ever repeated doing the Bolivian Special they would get totally lost...which in Chris' case would be a good thing.

BBC radio programmes have been trying to justify losing 4.3 million viewers.

They've varied from it's a Bank holiday, start of a new series and you'll have to wait till the end of the series till you get used to the new guys.

RE: Top Gear - lovebabes56 - 01-06-2016 03:42

In DS yesterday Chris was insisting totally that despite the figures his Top Gear was a hit!!
HHA next week they'll be half that and he'll still be insisting it's a hit - but then he'll have Soccer Aid & Euros footy to contend with, plus the likes of Antiques Road Show (wonder if Fions bruce could be classed a cougar material?)
I would love t osee if the babe channels will put out anti TG shows to entice more people away from TG

TG could sneak across Syria with C H & M back then - not now - I'm pretty much betting it's slightly less than half is under IS control if news reports are to be believed. I like the idea of the IS flag painted on his roof would attract Drone attention -- even better!! laughBounceBounce
I prefer Bolivia though see how he copes being followed by a million Brazilian wandering spiders!! Big Grin but they also have to go through a proper drug cartel strong hold with anti cocaine messages on his car!!
