RE: UFC - groundnpound - 25-04-2011 16:21 Yeah i thought Lil Nog and Belfort would both be on the Rio card mate.I'd have put them in the Luiz Cane and Tavares slots.Would have been a better card then for me. Think Michael Bisping might end up getting Wanderlei Silva in his next fight.Wanderlei fights Chris Leben on July 2nd and if he wins i think he could fight Bisping here in October in a rematch.Just a thought. RE: UFC - groundnpound - 26-04-2011 21:06 I see Randy's hanging up his gloves after the Machida fight on saturday night lads.Anyone fancy him to go out with a victory? RE: UFC - mitchell - 26-04-2011 23:32 Yeah he said om MMA LIVE last weeks he's calling it a day & was asked now the UFC has bought Strikeforce will he consider coming back should Fedor Emelianenko agree to fight him, Randy said this is his last fight & at the age of almost 48 he'd rather concentrate on his acting career with The Expendables 2 coming up & also his other businesses like his Xtreme Couture gym & his new supplements range. As far as a win goes I can see him buzzing off the 55,000 & with nothing to lose just going out there to put on a wrestling & groundnpound exhibition. RE: UFC - Gaz "AV1" Aston - 27-04-2011 18:19 I just read that Dave Batista (Former WWE wrestler) had been in talks to sign with Strikeforce however now that they have been purchased by UFC the deal has fallen through..He will be looking elsewhere for MMA opportunities! Interestingly i'm sure i read a story about Batista being beaten up by fellow WWE wrestler Booker T during a promo shoot, so not convinced he would have been any good anyway RE: UFC - mitchell - 27-04-2011 19:04 I heard the story about a month or so ago & thought it was just another publicity stunt by the WWE as I didn't know he was no longer there, I'm glad he's not getting anywhere near the UFC as there's already too many wrestlers here & rather than getting more in they need to ship some... & some more out. RE: UFC - groundnpound - 27-04-2011 20:32 Interesting stuff AV! Batista in the octagon He's a big unit of a lad but i agree with Mitchell.Too many wrestler types in the UFC for me just now.Time to bring some old school bangers through the door!!! If he came to the UFC and tore peoples heads off instead of wrestling people to death i'd be happy He'd be a good asett to the UFC if he brought his "animal" tag with him and was one in the cage. Can't see it though. Randy's gonna go out with a bang for me.Think he'll beat Lyoto into submission and will leave the crowd shouting for One more fight!!!One more fight!!!! at the end lol Come on Randy! RE: UFC - HEX!T - 28-04-2011 02:40 im really looking forward to Saturday night. just watched ufc 129 countdown and its got me hyped for some great action. RE: UFC - TDK2008 - 28-04-2011 08:26 Meant to post in this thread a while ago with my thoughts on fights I’d seen the day after they took place thanks to the 'net (and the help from groundnpound). I had Kampmann beating Sanchez but the decision went against him, Yung vs. Garcia II was memorable for the first UFC Twister, Jones battered Rua to become the youngest UFC champion ever, Melendez retained his Strikeforce Lightweight Championship with ease and Diaz/Daley was a dramatic one round fight when one guy would have the advantage only for the other to come back. I still have Edgar/Maynard II as the FOTY so far. World Extreme Cagefighting 36-48 is on Extreme Sports and what a promotion that was. No wonder the UFC bought the company and then merged it into the UFC. Check the shows out if they haven't done. Touch wood I hope to offer more contributions to this thread! RE: UFC - mitchell - 28-04-2011 11:48 Hello there TDK2008, just a quick one to welcome you to last week catch up kid. Here's a few early ones for today & tomorrow. The Ultimate Fighter: Team Lesnar vs. Team dos Santos - Episode 5. The time length is 39min but it should be the full show just without the ad breaks, I don't wanna forward it to the end to check as I'm gonna watch it on ESPN tonight. |
