Day 3 1st Test Australia beat India by 8 wickets
2nd Test will be at the MCG on Boxing day. India will be without their captain Virat Kohli, who is returning to India to attend the birth of his first child. He will miss the remaining 3 tests. Some doubts about the fitness of Shami who was India's most threatening & economical bowler in this match. David Warner could return for Australia.

England have recruited .South Africa legend Jacques Kallis as batting consultant for their Sri Lanka tour in January.

Even with Kohli missing, I'm expecting some sort of a fightback from India in this match. Shami is almost a bigger loss, but generally both bowling line-ups are evenly matched.
Australia are heavily reliant on Smith & Labuschagne, & India should be able to knock over what looks like a fragile batting line-up twice. This is a must win for them, as Warner looks likely to return for the remaining Tests.
India have must better strength in-depth in their batting than Australia.

1st Test Centurion Day 1
Sri Lanka won the toss & elected to bat

Sri Lanka maintained a healthy run-rate of 4 an over, despite being 54-3 & losing another 3 wickets in the last session. South Africa generally bowled too short & are missing the control & wicket-taking ability of Rabada. much will rest on whether de Silva will be fit enough to return & bat with the lower order & push the score beyond 400.
This is the 1st Test match that South Africa have played for 18 months & they are in something of a rebuilding process.
