think for something to be considered a terrorist attack by the police and authorities then has to be shown to be planned or some sort of conordination with other people this just seems to be some loner

thankfully these cases are rare in the uk

should have a relook at the gun laws mainly about giving people back a weapon after certain crimes or bouts of mental illness

People clinging onto the undercarriage of a C17 leaving Kabul airport with predictably horrific results.

And before anyone suggests they should have stopped, those planes are taking off with up to 800 people on board so stopping would place them and the aircraft in danger. They have no idea who is on the runway.

The pilots would have assumed people would let go rather than die trying to hold on.

The UK and US governments, and the UN have failed the people of Afghanistan. Being so desperate to escape that they're willing to die trying is heartbreaking.
This is a tragic start to a situation that will only get worse, let's see how the fuckwits in charge react, while sitting on their hands.

I always thought we prided ourselves on having the toughest gun laws in the world but after this just how tougher are the laws going to have to get?

Biden wanted the troops out as much as anyone over there. But he was dealt a shit hand by Trump and his 'deal' with the Taliban whereby he released 5000 Taliban prisoners, pulled the US troops out, and got nothing in return.
It would have been political suicide for Biden to reverse the decision. His administration is obviously damaged by this but, by the time the mid-terms come around, the American voters won't give a shit. The troops are home and that's all that matters. If he'd reversed the decision to pull out, he'd be carrying that cross all the way to the next Presidential election.
It might actually have been better to stick to Trump's May withdrawal date. All he's done is give the Taliban an extra 3 months to prepare for this.

Having said that, there's been a catastrophic failure of intelligence, not just on Biden's watch, but all the way back through Trump and Obama as well. Both as to the strength of the Taliban (that many fighters didn't suddenly appear out of a cave somewhere) and the level of incompetence and corruption in the Government. Many of the Afghan army weren't even getting paid properly, allegedly.

In related news, The Republican Party has taken down a webpage celebrating Trumps historic deal with the Taliban. They claim it was just a coincidence though... Rolleyes

Biden is due to address the nation (and all the other mugs involved in this disaster) at 20:45 UK time.

Biden - "The Taliban doesn't have an Air Force"

They do now you clown!

Thought this was a good piece about the takeover of Afghanistan. Big segment at 30 minutes long.

So should we prepare ourselves for more insurgency/lone wolf attacks here?
