With her head constantly rocking around a blowie was a real challenge for Boris.

ah this latest scheme mortgages for benefits claimaints Tongue Tongue

one major flaw to buy a house you need a sizeable deposit i would say more than 16k you can have in savings before they take all the benefits for you i mean over 6k and the take a percentage of your benefits

24 hours later than projected

Boris has annouced his 'Ownership Revelution'.

The problem with the scheme is that reduces the number of social homes available for people wanting to rent a home.

A lot of people, even with decent jobs, can't get on the property ladder. Now Boris is going to use their (our) taxes to buy houses for benefits claimants?

This will go down like a lead balloon bladewave

I wonder how benefits claimants will cope with the extra cost of home ownership? Pipe bursts, roof starts leaking, building insurance alone will make their eyes water...

For a lot of them it will end up a millstone around their neck.

It's just a poorly thought through gimmick from a Government with no real ideas.

I have to agree Charle I can't see how you can sell social housing, when you don't have replacement housing fot those sold can see deposits rising to around 25K for mortgages under current crisis situation. Plus finding the idea for tobacco will work as long as the money is pumped into fighting illegal tobacco imports.

What wiould be the alternatives offered on both by the other parties I wonder?

It's another Boris plan, so doomed to fail before it even begins. What a truly stupid idea given the cost of living crises and poverty rise..

Great quote from The Spectator's Assistant Editor Isabel Hardman on its podcast

“People in the housing sector don’t think this (Right to Buy plan) is going to happen because they’ve come to the conclusion that Boris Johnson thinks he’s achieved a policy merely by announcing it... which is why he bangs on about reforming social care. He’s done absolutely nothing to reform social care, he’s introduced a tax which is going to the NHS, and that’s his version of ‘reforming social care’''

Just Boris in a desperate flap trying to make it look as though he cares and make it look as though he has lots of ideas to improving the state of the nation.
Poorly thought out in the extreme of course but merely a deflection technique away from his own catalogue of duplicitous skullduggery and shithousery.
Soon enough he will be toast.
