Some plans have been looked at for re - opening pubs and restaurants & bars with a "1 pint limit" for customers being considered

I just wonder how many barrels of alcohol have gone to waste, and how many pubs probably may never re open.

Following on from what BA announced yesterday that they are potentially looking at making 12,000 redundancies and reduce it's schedule by up to a third because of the virus that probably could be the first real sign of any real business impact on the economy. We have been told what the financial impact of the pandemic could be (35%?), and having heard this from a major airliner is not good.

I hope tomorrow we will get the first real sign of what the Government's exit strategy is likely to be, in coming out of this lockdown, if they make no real change, then I think it is highly likely we won't see any real strategy plan outline until mid May, which if that proves to be the case, then it wil be highly likely the media will pile on the pressure for it to be published.

What would your exit strategy be?

Life insurance does'nt work that way, it isn't means tested, it will pay out the sum insured regardless of anything else.
How this payment will affect other benefits that may otherwise have applied following a death and loss of an income remains to be seen, the devil is always in the detail, not in the headline!

I'm back to work next week, short week to start, 3 days only.
Word is they are looking at redundancies across our company nationally because of the impact of this on finances. Furlough is covering the bulk of the wage bill, but no-one at work means nothing getting shipped, which means no money coming in, that has an effect eventually.

Day after day as a key worker I use public transport to get to and from work because I have no car. Day after day people choose to sit right behind or in front of me when there is countless choice of other seats to choose from Rolleyes.

Then I see groups of teenagers with no adult company in groups of 4 or 5 getting on and off buses Rolleyes.

I give up RolleyesRolleyesRolleyes

Social distancing will have to come to an end sooner rather than later because the population won't support it.

....Which will lead to the situation described herein for Philadelphia.

In America Pfizer are going to start their coronavirus vaccine tests next week.
Pfizer are working together with German firm BioTech who have already started with their tests.

Pfizer hope to be distributing the vaccine for emergency use in autumn.

I see that Wetherspoons are raring to reopen their pubs and hotels.
They plan to start up again in June, or as near to June as they are allowed.
