It would be interesting to know if Ofcom make any attempt to confirm the identify of complainants, or if their regime is a charter for vindictive complaints, nutters and trade complaints.

It would also be interesting to know if complaints come in bundles or dribs and drabs, and how seriously Ofcom take bundled complaints. A rival broadcaster might be tempted to hold on to a lot of supposed breaches, letting a channel demonstrate "repeat breaches" rather than submit each one as it happens and tip off the channel. An ordinary person who was genuinely offended would also be tempted to put pen to paper straight away.

Ofcom are a representation of what you could call the British stiff upper lip, also to answer continentals question, politician's are the dirtist scumfucks going, they are constantly embroiled in sex scandals and many are known to frequent a Gentlemans club on a regular basis, the thing is with this unhealthy obsession aswell as cheating on their spouses they really don't want us to know they are actually enjoying themselves with the amount of strip clubs and shagging they are getting up to and the same goes for Ofcom, deep down they too are not the prudes they would have us believe, it's all just down to perception and how they want the Great British public to see them, they are the masters of deception and can manipulate and fabricate all this bullshit they champion about morals and standards, but when you look at them they are the lowest form of decency and masters of feeding us this great lie of theirs whilst their propaganda bandwagon rolls on in a quest to destroy our beloved babe channels which are a true reflection on British society and not the one which Ofcom are trying to have us believe in.

Scottishbloke you're right matey, as you've mentioned in your post its all down to perception they want to portray themselves as the saviour of the moral standards, what a load of Bollocks. Mmmh i wonder how many of the Ofcom Scumbags when the clock strikes 5.30pm,how many make there way up the West End heading to some Gentlemans clubs, and then calling there wives and girlfriends saying that there stuck in traffic.

Theres a row brewing about how the Levenson Inquiry into newspaper ethics lacks tabloid representation. Free regional newspapers with missing cat stories yes, paid for tabloids that manage a balancing act between sales and the courts, no.

The Ofcom Content Commitee and the full Ofcom Board is similar. Plenty of academics, reporters and documentaries makers, but not a single person with experience of making popular programs. These people are supposed to be representative. Instead they are grey.
