They have proved this season that they don't have what it takes to go on and win.

This should surprise no-one.

a low budget team compared to Man City and Liverpool pushed them all the way, next joke please fella

He would have I think for me, but Roy would not have put him in, he would rather play Rooney or Wellbeck out of position

People are forgetting the star Player tonight was actually a Liverpool player Smile where is stat head william?

Maybe he can find out the highest number of players from one club to face each other in an international match is.. I think there was 8 liverpool players tonight.

Yeah, the team with the least Liverpool players won. Always happens.

Hodgson is shit anyway, cant handle big name players, can only handle the likes of Zamora and Dempsey.
Have a better chance with Becks as coach, atleast he has passion for England

I think if England had taken that Squad with the young players and they were managed correctly under a different more modern manager willing to take risks and play freely they would have gone a lot further..

Is Zaha a left winger?

RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - Cj123 - 19-06-2014 23:24

I think england have the start of a decent side, some talented young players. One thing that annoys me tho is the way media blame foreign owners and players, i admit they do share some of the blame but why don't the media point out the greedy lower leauge and bottom of the prem who hike up prices unbelieveably, a half decent championship player like zaha or hughes go for 15million, if they sold them at a half decent price like 5million more top clubs would buy lower leauge players, helping all the english leauges and english players get to the top,

so yet again the anonymous steven gerrard escapes criticism, and if sturridge, barkley or sterling scored our goal they would be called great players, the only attacking player to play better than rooney so far is sterling and today he didn't do much. wellbeck is fucking shit, plus there were always question marks over jagileka he's just not good enough, credit to glen johnson and wayne rooney though the two most slated players in the team actually made a contribution tonight

RE: World Cup 2014 Brasil - hugh_g_rection - 19-06-2014 23:28

Haha now I know why I'm not a troll. I clearly suck at it. Wink

Actually, it's fair to say that Liverpool players make up the majority of our most promising young players. Sturridge, Sterling and Henderson made good accounts of themselves. People criticise them for losing possession but that happens when you take risks, and taking risks is what wins football matches.

It hasn't paid off for us.

What I will take issue with, is the bashing that Roy Hodgson is receiving. He's the best manager we have, and it has already been proven that managers with great track records will not compensate for the fact that we have been producing precious little footballing talent.

In general, I'm actually happier with what I saw from England this year than I have been for a very long time.

Perhaps give a little credit to the opposition this time. Well done Italy. Well done Uruguay. Done us good and proper.
