I can recommend installing the free 7-Zip program for windows. It can uncompress any type of compressed file,
zip ,rar, 7z, bz2, cab, gz, tgz, tar and others.

see http://www.7-zip.org/

It's simply the best uncompressor there is. Smile

If you are extracting a rar file that has more than one volume you have to locate the last volume of the set and open it to extract it, or the programme in full! Hope that helps.

I agree mate, I've been using 7-zip for a while now, it's great.

7-zip is a great alternative to winrar l use it all the time.

I use JZip and that works all ok and had no problems as yet.

All very nice guys, but doesn't resolve the problem by just recommending alternative software when the error doesn't pertain to a fault with the program Rolleyes
Firebird was along the right lines though hence the quote Wink
RAR files are frequently broken into several files so you end up with one RAR file and several others labelled R01, R02, R03 etc on the file extensions.
To open in WinRAR you just open the RAR file itself. The message you're getting suggests to me that you have one or more of the R** files missing and thus an incomplete RAR image, hence it asking for the location of the next file

This is something like WinRar but you don't need to pay to get it unlocked cause there's codes with it.

I always had problems understanding that 'rar files' stuff,so I use dziobas-rar-player to play them once I have downloaded them,no messing about with extracting for me Wink

I will post a link if requested so I don't get accused of spamming.Smile
