Stop receiving text messages? - dopey1 - 06-11-2009 20:01

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone can help me out here. Every Friday I'll receive a text message which says Member Content and below that gives a link to a website. The link is: [link removed by mod as it starts an automatic download]. I'm pretty sure the only reason I get these messages is because I texted in a couple of times to some of the shows (only texted into Babestation and Babeworld). There's no way to reply to these messages, so I'm hoping someone can tell me why I keep getting them and how I can stop them from being sent to me?

What number shows on your display when you receive the text?

Thats the problem though - no number shows up. My phone says this is a push message, not a text message and so there is no way to reply to it. Cheers for the replys though, any1 got any more thoughts?

Have you spoken to your Mobile provider to see if they can help.

Have you looked in your text message settings and/or MMS message settings to see if you can stop push messages ?

Good Luck Mate

As mrwotzup says, without a number you are stuck until you contact your mobile provider and report this. Unfortunately you can not report this to phonepayplus without a number or contact address.

I work for a mobile company. The advice I give to customers (though have not been able to test myself, this is just what Ive been told) is to click the link. The initial page you view should be free (apart from general data use) & contain details of the company involved. Im told, it should also show a way of contacting said company &/or unsubscribe. If all you can get is a company name, go to phonepayplus.org.uk which has a search engine for such things. Let me know if the clicking link bit works, just for my own curiosity for work. Smile

Oh, and I forgot to mention, those texts you receive with no five digit shortcode showing are free. Smile
