On the subject on download and uploading is anyone else having trouble with rapidshare? It seems to be blocking me from using the free download thing, I keep on getting a message to try again later no matter when or what I try and download.

It's been doing that a lot more lately than it used to. Just keep trying, it frees up eventually.

Yeah Rapidshare has been a piece of shit for me for a long time now. In all my time downloading stuff from Rapidshare and similar sites, I've found a million sites that work better than Rapidshare but for some reason, everyone still uses it for their uploads.

One of the reasons I use Rapidshare is because 'I think' (maybe mistakenly) that more people have an RS account than they do for any other service. So uploading to RS allows a greater number of people to download a file more easily than for any other host.

A premium RS service is great, but yes, I do understand that its free service isn't as good as the free service for some other hosts.

The other, more selfish reason I use RS is...to be an 'uploader' its essential to have an account. If I'm going to have to pay to have an account, I want that to be RS because I also download other things, 90% of which are posted on RS. An account with netload.in or deposit files or meagupload, or megashare etc. would be a waste of money as I'd only find 5-10% of the stuff I like to download on those hosts.

Message for uploaders:
Megaupload servers are very fast and more stableWink

I have absolutely no problems, getting near on 20 mb download speeds, there again I have a premium account, which is only something like 16 quid for three months. Well worth it and affordable for most people.

Just think of all the stuff you can get for that with no waiting.

Beyond me why people don't pay.

Isn't uploading to Megaupload free? I've done it multiple times without an account. I've always found downloading it from it is a lot, lot more stable whereas Rapidshare in the past few months has been highly erratic. I'd get to 75% of a massive download and it'd die, I have to try about 10 times before I can actually start downloading something etc.

I actually even found when I got a premium account that the free downloads were faster and more stable than the premium ones.

This is getting ridiculous...I've not been able to download anything, after multiple tries on each file, for about four days on Rapidshare...

RE: Rapidshare - skateguy - 10-11-2009 20:40

Can you explain specifically what errors/issue your experiencing and at which stage of the download process? Is it as before, where you're able to begin a download and then it fails part way through?

RE: Rapidshare - mrwotzup - 10-11-2009 20:54

i'm not sure if this might be of help.
I'm on AOL ( Rolleyes ) and if I try to use the Aol browser to download Files from Rapidshare its hopeless, the download either downloads too early or just gets 'cancelled'. (I do have a Rapidshare premuim account)
However if I use IE or Safari no problems at all ( and I download a lot Smile )
so prehaps use a different browser.
