24: Redemption tonight - BristolRovers - 24-11-2008 13:57

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone will be tuning into this programme tonight at 10 on Sky1?

Personally I can't wait, I have been a fan of 24 since the start of Day 1 (Sorry season 1 lol).

For people who don't know it is a programme based in C.T.U (Counter-Terrorist-Unit) in L.A, they are faced with terrorist activities there are generally loads of twists as well.
Each episode is based on real time so each episode is 1 hour and there are 24 episodes.

But that isn't what the show is tonight lol, the show what is airing tonight is a story between Series 6 and Series 7 telling you what has happened during this time (They didn't initially plan this, but due to the writers strike 24 hasn't been on are screens for 2 years) and this programme tells you what has happened during this time.

As you can tell I am big geek of this programme, but so what? Bite me. Tongue

Also, I probably didn't have to write all this but oh well.

Yeah am gonna be watching it too, got all the seasons on dvd. I've even pre ordered it on dvd as theres a extended version of it which will be about half hour longer and you get 15 min preview of season 7. It comes in a single or double disk. Oh yes jack is back Smile

Bloody hell - that's 14 episodes a day for a whole week! Did you get round to eating or sleeping?

So people, is it worth watching if I haven't seen Season 6 yet or would it a) spoil Season 6 when I do come to watch it, or b) wouldn't make sense without having watched S6?

If you aint seen season 6 yet i would hold file on Redemption. I believe it to be a purely linking special between S6 and S7. So if you watch this it could spoil the whole of season 6 for you and possibly not make any sense what so ever.

I could be wrong and it might not have much to do with either season and just be a filler episode so people dont get bored of waiting for season 7.

I guess we will find out tonight!

Big fan of 24 but I was a bit disappointed with Series 6.

Without wanting to spoil it for SkateGuy, getting certain family members involved as the villians has been done in so many films / TV shows before and its always really difficult to believe.

I think you'll be able to get into the flow of Series 7 without watching 6 Skate, 24 is good like that.

Looking forward to it tonight! Smile

From Wikipedia;

"24: Redemption (previously named 24: Exile)[1] is a television movie, bridging the gap between the sixth and seventh seasons of the TV series 24. It takes place approximately three years and six months (42 months total) after Season 6. Set in the fictional African nation Sangala"

The only reason they have made this movie/film is to cover the big gap between Season 6 and 7 I think, I think you will be ok skate.

As wrist said, it might spoil the story for season 6 but you should be able to follow it ok. Infact I have just finished watching the first 3 seasons so I think I am going to be abit confused!

When I first saw the advert on Sky1 during Prison Break, I must admit I was like a little kid Shy I knew it was coming up sometime before Christmas but didn't know when.

Thanks for your views guys Smile I'm not someone who's experience of a show or film is totally ruined if I know a little about a story-line before seeing something so I should be ok watching S6 after this.

I only watched the first two Seasons and got a bit bored part way through the third. Got so many US series on the go at the moment but I might try and puck 24 up again sometime.
