Former WWE star Umaga hospitalized Edward Fatu, 36, is hospitalized in Houston and in what was described as life threatening condition by a long-time friend.
Details are sketchy at this point but he apparently fell asleep last night while watching television, and several hours later, his wife found him not breathing with blood coming out of his nose and he was rushed to the hospital.
UPDATE: According to a report by http://www.PWTorch.com, Umaga is rumored to be passed away. We will have an update on this breaking story as soon as more details surface

According to several sources, PWTorch has been told that friends and fellow wrestlers have been told that former WWE star Umaga (Eddie Fatu) was found dead today by his wife. Another source says he is hospitalized in grave condition on life support awaiting his family arriving to be with him.

Don't know the details of this but I wouldn't be surprised if drugs were involved somewhere.
If I remember correctly he was released from WWE when he refused to enter rehab after failing WWE's wellness policy for the second time.
I hope I am wrong though and no drugs are involved.

Umaga update
just to clear things up that have been reported, Eddie Fatu at this point is still alive and in a hospital in Houston. The family is being gathered and without a miraculous recovery, it is just a matter of time. But he has not passed away.

Its official now that he has past away its being reported on WWE's site
WWE would like to express its deepest condolences to Mr. Fatu’s family, friends and fans on his tragic passing. Mr. Fatu was under contract with WWE at various time periods and most recently performed under the name "Umaga." Mr. Fatu's contract was terminated on June 11, 2009.

Thats the thing the WWE are trying they have brought in drug tests in the past few years there also offering to pay for the rehab of current WWE an former WWE superstars if they need to go into rehab which of course Umaga refused when WWE offered it to him. The WWE to be fair cant do much more than it is already doing.

too much strain on them to wrestle 24/7 300 days a yer with no off time we hear all the time from legends who say that wrestlers need some off time they take pills to sleep pill to get up i mean its crazy there been far to many die young we know the list and i dare say we keep adding names untill some 1 does something about it

to be fair none of the wwe mob work 300 days a year. and haven't for years. plus, the wrestlers know exactly what they're getting into as far as the workload and time away from home; not to mention the physical nature of the business means bumps, bruises, and broken bones are par for the course. simple truth is no one is forcing them to be wrestlers. bad news but thats's life
