how do posts just disappear - was it withdrawn or something?

I've noticed a few of my posts have disappeared.
I just assumed the mods removed them for being irritating drivel which indeed they were.
I find they are a bit more tolerant of inane ramblings if you send in some pictures or vids at the same time.
