dont be so harsh guys, it's probably an error. anyhoo, If the setting is there it should be ok to used it mate, if your tv does happen to break, you should be covered under the warranty anyways.

Woah guys, no need to be so negative.

The only issue you MIGHT have is screen burn, but that is hardly a problem on the LCD televisions - If you have a Plasma then I would suggest the middle setting since that would reduce the risks, but that is another story...

By any chance do you know the Model number and make of the TV? If you could supply that I could point you in the right direction for correct screen calibration. See this site for more details: http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-televisions/

You will probably find the Admin will move this thread to the Technical Forum but you should get more replies there.

Hope that helps. Smile

ah, they moved it.

anyway

Reference Level or Black Level: The default setting, Standard, delivers the normal range of white and black levels that your TV or monitor supports. Select Intermediate to increase the level of white and black in the video output. Select Expanded to maximize black level. Reference level is sometimes used to make a picture sharper, and you can experiment with what format suits your viewing pleasure.

stole this from some xbox forum. hope it helps

Out of curiousity is there much to do with the settings or when you buy the Xbox are you good to go? I havnt touched anything and i think i'm ok,unless there is tweaking to do to the box?

I changed my settings when I got an HD TV and connected it using a VGA cable. I set the reference level to highest and screen size to 12(can't remember the last two numbers) X 768. Also got that bad boy connected up to a 5.1 dolby surround system. Mortar shells on Call of Duty World at War makes the floor vibrate!!!
