iPad - *Kal-El* - 08-05-2010 11:40 The iPad will be out to buy on the 28th May. RE: iPad - hitmeuptop - 10-05-2010 16:04 whats the diffence between the ipad and the itouch? it just looks like an oversized itouch really! RE: iPad - *Kal-El* - 10-05-2010 17:30 When it comes to music there exactly the same no difference except the output of sound is a lot better and the cover art is a lot better then the ipod touch. video playback is the same except the ipad has a led backlight. Of course it wil be easier watching films and stuff on the ipad due to having a bigger screen. Where the ipad comes into its own is ereading, you'll be able to download magzines, newspapers and books and even be able to flip pages like its a book, enlarge words so its easier to read and there will special apps designed to run on ipad, you can use ipod touch emotes but they don't work full screen. In a nut shell its kind like a striped down Macbook plus you can connect a mini keyboard too, will get one myself soon. Might just a the 3G bluetooth model RE: iPad - wade_wilson - 10-05-2010 18:25 actually the ipod on the ipad is much more like itunes than the ipod, so thats a significant difference, the ipad can play HD video, which looks better on the ipad screens. the iBook section is the big thing for me, looks great. looks better than the kindle too. also the ipad has a great interface for pictures, you can go to a grid of your photo albums and just with a finger gesture, pull out the thumbnails. also you can import photos to the ipad straight from a camera via USB or via SD card into the ipad, well into an adapater for the ipad. you can get iWork to use various documents too, like office stuff. which can be useful. am interested to see the apps that are ipad specific, just hope that most of the existing iphone ones get reworked, i know there are a lot of games in the works. the Marvel comics app is great, a huge backcatalog to choose from, the app on the iphone for it is good, but way better on the ipad. another good app is the New York Times app. just hoping that the Hulu app will be available over here to stream the shows like over there, ABC (tv channel in america) has a great app where you can watch any show from the week on there on catchup, like BBC's iPlayer. there's a lot of potential there. email is alot better on the ipad too, like the ipod, the interface for the app has been redone to suit the ipad, rather than just bodging the existing one. for me, the ipad will get alot of use, as there's times i'm around the house or on a train and i want something a bit bigger than my iphone for a few things and i don't have a laptop, don't want one as i have a decent base computer at home and server hooked up. so it fills that gap for me. plus both the wifi and 3G have bluetooth incase people were misled by kalel's last line....
