i presumed that it was no b/g penetration, but who knows.

Penetration, of any kind, is not allowed by Ofcon.

well if thats the case, how did TVX get away with it on their encrypted live chat channel they used to have?

What encrypted live chat channel? When was that?

Maybe, because one of Ofcon's many problems is an inability to understand/implement its own broadcast code correctly?

Perhaps the 'used to have' might be a clue, and it took a while for Ofcon to notice, at which point,TVX stopped it?

Are you claming that penetration IS allowed on Ofcon licensed services (adult entertainment programming, that is, which does not, in Ofcon’s view, have the necessary ‘editorial justification’; it is allowed on e.g. documentaries, even though broadcasters appear to be largely unaware of this, given that even these are often censored)?

As mentioned, BBFC guidelines do not allow explicit/real sex in 18 certificate ‘sex works’; therefore, any such content would receive an R18 certificate (unless they ban it completely); Ofcon’s broadcast code prohibits R18 from broadcast, ergo, no penetration is allowed. (FWIW, works deemed to be ‘sex education’ are allowed some, ‘justified’, explicit content)

if i recall correctly, TVX stopped it of their own accord due to it not doing well financially. there were other channels too, livexxx did it, look at the encrypted channel thread, pics of dildo penetration, not sure why that channel stopped though.

you say BBFC do not allow explicit/real sex, that wording sounds like it applies to b/g not g/g as thats not real sex now is it? i'm just pointing out that on encrypted channels previously they had penetration with dildos/strapons, so maybe if its encrypted, its a loophole. i presume they're classed similar to the other encrypted adult channels on sky like tvx, spice, redhot, etc.

The last few posts illustrate so well the whole bloody mess that Ofcon preside over. No, there is no full-on penetration shown nor fellatio. Penetration is allowed to be viewed from the side or top as long as it is not a real penis, and fellatio is allowed to be seen in silhouette or if the penis is covered by a pair of Y fronts !! (I remember some years ago, Angel Long having to go behind a screen on SXTV to give a male colleague a blow job. You could see the outline of everything).

R18, however, does not just consist of those actions. Erect penises are also classed as R18, as is cunnilingus. Both those activities are regularly on view (or at least they were until recently) so, in my opinion, Ofcon are allowing certain R18 activities to keep the broadcasters happy and banning certain others to keep the feminazis and mediawatch types happy.
As for the customer, well we can piss off, I suppose.

Nothing is strictly "classed as R18". There are plently of (oft close-up) shots of erections, cum shots, felatio, cunnilingus and penetration in general '18' rated films such as Romance, Intimacy, Baise Moi, 9 Songs, Import/Export, Antichrist etc.

"Context" and the supposed "intent" (incl. 'purpose' and 'justification' - e.g. 'made to cause sexual arousal') are key elements in the BBFC ratings assessments.

Generally, any 'serious' film not made purely for the purposes of sexual stimulation (i.e. not "pornography" according to current interpretations) will usually get an '18 ' IF any explicit sexual content is reasonably justified by the story or tone of the work.

Anything falling under the 'pornography' definition (i.e. made to wank to) usually gets an R18.

Of course the reason for all this bullshit is historical (or rather the hysterical) 'British' (i.e. 'religious') attitudes toward sex in general and esp. the Victorian attitudes toward 'obscenity'. And it is hair-splitting bullshit...an erect penis is an erect penis whether its 'justified' by context at 18 or just part of the pounding hardcore R18 action - it can do no more harm and cause no more offence no matter what fucking 'context' it appears. We must remember too that the Victorians thought showing an ankle was risque or even sexually offensive - clearly, the boundaries have moved an awful lot in the past 150 years, however, the legacy of that religiously inspired insanity lives on in the 'law' and puritan mindset of many a UK politician (fucking narrow minded bigots and tossers the lot of 'em!).

Here's a list of guidelines taken from the BBFC site (some time ago, now, as it's no longer on there). It clearly states what they regard as 18 & R18 cert. for "sex works".

The ‘R18’ category is a special and legally restricted classification primarily for explicit videos of consenting sex between adults. Such videos may be supplied to adults only in licensed sex shops, of which there are currently about 250 in the UK. ‘R18’ videos may not be supplied by mail order.

The following content is not acceptable

any material which is in breach of the criminal law.
material (including dialogue) likely to encourage an interest in abusive sexual activity (e.g., paedophilia, incest) which may include depictions involving adults role-playing as non-adults.
the portrayal of any sexual activity, whether real or simulated, which involves lack of consent.
the infliction of pain or physical harm, real or (in a sexual context) simulated. Some allowance may be made for mild consensual activity.
any sexual threats or humiliation which do not form part of a clearly consenting role-playing game.
the use of any form of physical restraint which prevents participants from withdrawing consent, for example, ball gags.
penetration by any object likely to cause actual harm or associated with violence.
activity which is degrading or dehumanising (examples include the portrayal of bestiality, necrophilia, defecation, urolagnia).

The following content, subject to the above, may be permitted
aroused genitalia
masturbation
oral-genital contact including kissing, licking and sucking
penetration by finger, penis, tongue, vibrator or dildo
non-harmful fetish material
group sexual activity
ejaculation and semen

These guidelines make no distinction between heterosexual and homosexual activity.
