which years do you think are the best in wrestling history. - supermario1983 - 08-06-2010 22:35

in my opinion the best years of wrestling were 1996 - 2001 because of wrestlers like stone cold steve austin, the rock, undertaker, mankind, bret hart, goldberg, sting, diamond dallas page, d-generation x, the n.w.o. etc and because back then wrestling was more suitable for adults.

I was a fan of wrestling in 1988 till 1990 but after Summerslam 90 WWF went down hill. That when I started watching WCW. but once the Hollywood Blondes (Steve Austin and Flyin' Brian) left I went back to WWF.

Then The Ringmaster Steve Austin joined WWE went bad ass and it was once Austin couldn't wrestle anymore I give up.

Due to me only discovering Wrestling in early 2003, I haven't been watching as long as some of the other Dedicated Wrestling fans here and I've probably missed some of the better years in Wrestling.

So in my limited experience, I would say the best years in Wrestling were from 2003 - 2005. Back when Evolution dominated Raw and Smackdown featured great feuds like Brock Lesner vs the Undertaker and Brock Lesner vs Kurt Angle. It was also the time where a new generation of Superstars were born such as Randy Orton, Edge, Batista, John Cena, etc.

It all seemed to go down hill at the end of 2005 in my opinion, Wrestling is still good and I still watch it on a regular basis, but I do miss the good old days especially before all of this kid friendly, PG rating crap came about.

I used to see wwf back in the early 90's, when the highlight every week was seeing Paul Bearer spouting gibberish at the camera and waving his urn around. laugh
Plenty of legends around then too, Hulk Hogan, L.O.D, Million Dollar Man....
I also used to watch Raw every week between '98 and '01, until the Sky got cut off. That was perhaps the best time to watch, with The Rock gaining popularity, HHH, Stone Cold, Undertaker and so many others. Great days.Smile

my favourites were mid 1990s - early 2000's. every match used to be quality and some of the feuds were brilliant. much much better in comparison to today

2001 with the WCW/WWF Invasion angle. That was awesome Cool

Mainly due to this moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKz0_JngFmg

I don't think anything currently in WWE could produce a crowd reaction quite like the one when Austin's music hit.

This video not only shows me how much I miss Austin, but also JR on commentary as well.

the attitude era of late nineties into early 2000s. Great storylines, great babes, and great fun. Smile

96 to about 2002, mostly in the attitude era

Thing is back then it wasn't just WWE (WWF), you also had the real ECW.

The whole Stone Cold and The Rock era when they were both at their best.
When Austin and Tyson were at it aswell.
I loved it back then Rolleyes
