Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - Regenerated - 21-06-2010 19:35 I wanted to get a feeling of where everyone stands with the Capello-Terry fallout. Fabio Capello said today that "there was a mistake of a player, a big mistake". He was referring to John Terry talking to the media and singling out Joe Cole and Wayne Rooney as "in my opinion the only two who can open things up for us and unlock teams". Capello insisted that players should talk to other players, the coaches and the manager, and not the media. Where does everyone stand? Was Terry right to speak to the media about the team meeting, or is Capello right that players should speak to managers and other players and not reveal opinions to the media? Who's right, Terry or Capello? Vote and discuss. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - rickhardo - 21-06-2010 20:31 Capello's right. Terry has been pissed off since losing the captaincy and is using the situation to try and re-establish himself as the team leader - as if it matters. Crap like this shouldn't be aired in the media, it just makes any problems there may be worse. I thought Lampard was superb at his press conference by the way. Capello's the manager - he picks the team. Now, move on and give a performance on Wednesday. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - trevor format - 22-06-2010 07:15 It's nice to hear someone being honest, saying what they really think, for example when asked if he'd like to see Joe Cole in the side. But inevitably the media blow the whole thing up out of all proportion to what was said. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - SOCATOA - 22-06-2010 07:27 If Terry wasnt happy he should have it out in private with Capello, not moan to the press. Personally i think he is still miffed at his demotion and is trying to undermine the manager. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - William H Bonney - 22-06-2010 07:46 Terry didn't do any moaning and he didn't intend to undermine the manager. He just made the mistake of being a little too honest and straightforward. Terry tried to be the alpha male and it back fired on him. However, Capello should not have been so open in his disgust with the players inability to perform suggesting they lacked spirit. That also should have been kept in house. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - cosmonaut - 22-06-2010 11:56 We all know, thanks to Capello, that Terry "made a very big mistake" in not lying to the press on Sunday. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - groundnpound - 22-06-2010 12:05 Can't see any benefit of Terry going public with in house problems...What the fuck are the journo's gonna do!!Except fill there little notepads..He played right into their hands.. I agree with Fabio on this one. Go and knock on his door if u have a problem. Cole should start no doubt in my mind about that, but go and say to Fab not the journos. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - 654321 - 22-06-2010 12:50 Bottom line is, wot is to happen or wot happens stays in the dressing room. JT had no right bringing it out in public. He's no longer captain so does not speak for the team so why he saw fit to do so is interesting. If i thought he was intelligent enough, i'd suggest that he did it on purpose to undermine the current captain and coach in revenge, as he still doesn't think he should of got sacked as captain. We all know how he's a self-serving git. If Capello was brave enough, he'd send Terry home, i personally don't think he should ever have gone to South Africa in the first place because of the negative affect it was going to have on the team off the pitch and he know looks to have caused chaos within the camp. Surely as a professional footballer and captain for so long he shud now how to be media savvy. Or wot its clearly shown is how they do things at Chelsea, where player power prevails, and this is accepted behaviour. We all know Chelsea football club are a club who are devoid of any class so it's not a surprise he doesn't know how to behave. RE: Poll: John Terry - Fabio Capello England Fallout - aaron - 22-06-2010 13:04 We need someone like Harry Redknapp as England manager. He'd have just laughed this whole thing off and said nothing much happened, what's the fuss about, instead of making a drama out of it as Capello has done. |
