Cheap Xbox 360 hard drives - A Spider Monkey - 27-12-2008 20:04

If anyone sees any sites selling cheap Xbox 360 hard drives please post a link here or send me a pm. Ideally looking for a 120gb for around £50-60, but will settle for 60gb for approx £40 if its available.

Need to update my 20gb one and been searching for one for a few weeks now but don't want to pay the current rip off prices of £85+ for a 120gb one.

Cheers

Have you tried places like amazon or play.com. They sell the harddrives on there plus with play.com they have something on there called playtrade where some people sell brand new items on there and there cheaper and also amazon have a thing on there called market place which does the same thing as playtrade, apart that theres ebay.

theres a shop in cardiff called cex, its amazingly cheap in there, i dont know if they are nationwide though. you might pick one up in their store/s for cheap.

Cheers for the replies. Tried my local Game and they had none either new or used. Tried Gamestop and they only had a used 60gb for £65. That cex website looks like it could be good, especially if I can sell them my old HDD when I done with it.

there should be something to use ordinary hard drives on 360.

except you can get a tb harddrive for less than £100 now. better to make people pay £100 for a hd with about an eighth of the memory. they will still lap it up HA HA

Thats it exactly. You can pick up a normal 120+gb harddrive for about £40 so I'm doing my utmost to avoid shelling out rip off microsoft prices, the £90+ full retail price is shocking.

There is a guide on the web about how to take the parts from a standard HDD and put them into the Xbox360 HDD casing. But apparently MS have stopped it working with the new xbox update that came out in November. Bastards.

Aye there was a few hot deals on 60gb and 120gb 360 drives just before Christmas not a trace of them now anywhere though. The biggest rip off for the 360 though has to be the wifi adapter. But hey its Microsoft so nothing new...
