Its probably a codec problem.
As has been said many times previously on the forum, just use VLC player.

It plays everything.

Download and install VLC Video Player. It'll play most videos including mp4's.

If you haven't already, it'd be a good idea to install Perian too.

Thanks Skateguy - have VLC and checked I've latest version plus added Perian, but no luck. Website provider says videos all OK. Any other ideas gratefully received. Thanks again.

Have you a link to an example of one of the videos you can't play, or are they from a pay site? I use a Mac and I've never had a problem playing an mp4 file.

Are you able to open the video in Quicktime? If so what happens?

RE: MP4 files - kruse - 28-07-2011 20:20

They're from a paysite, their wmv videos play OK but the mp4 not. Click on the link (pic) and I get a black screen and "Loading". I have Quicktime, but it doesn't give me the option of what format to view in when you hit the link. Any ideas? Thanks for bearing with me on this and for your advice Skateguy.
