Sky Remote - aceman65 - 07-09-2010 20:05 Ahhhhhhhh Typical. Why is it your Sky remote decides to pack up, just at the time of night, when you can't go to the shop to buy a replacement. Now I have the task of using the meagre buttons on the box itself to go up and down, one channel at a time, until the shop opens in the morning. Once the actual sky+ box had locked up on me , not actually faulty remote. RE: Sky Remote - aceman65 - 07-09-2010 21:09 No, it's definitely the remote that's gone. I checked the batteries first. And the box itself is working fine using the buttons on the front. I even borrowed my brothers remote, and that works fine. I'll just buy a new replacement in the morning. They only cost a tenner, in Argos. RE: Sky Remote - Captain Vimes - 07-09-2010 21:21 (07-09-2010 20:05 )aceman65 Wrote: Ahhhhhhhh Typical. Frankly as a senior capper/vidder I find your lacksadaisical attitude is reprehensible. As an afficianado of these channels, some might claim, a perv, I always have an ample supply of back up batteries just for these moments. You're lack of foresight both disgusts and appalls me. RE: Sky Remote - sparko114 - 07-09-2010 21:34 While I'm thinking of sky+ remotes - my sky+hd remote failed after 6 months (typical sky crap) been using my old sky+ remote and it works just fine. I actually prefer it because all the buttons are bigger and a few quid less to replace. But if notice from my posts, that most of my capping work is done from the webstreams, and not Sky. And I don't need a remote for them. RE: Sky Remote - Josh - 07-09-2010 21:47 There are a few things to try b4 buying a new remote. My remote stopped responding a few months back. There were no lights after pressing any of the buttons and changing the batteries didn't help. On the old sky plus remotes, remove the batteries and press/hold the select button for about 1 minute. Then put the batteries back in and it may start responding. For my HD remote, I just left the batteries out for a few hours and once replaced, the remote started working again. RE: Sky Remote - bobek - 07-09-2010 22:04 Found this after a bit of digging. Might be worth a try... To reset Sky+ functions on your remote Press "TV" Press and hold "Yellow" and "Select" together until red light on remote flashes twice. Press "1" - this can be changed to "0" for standard and "2" for HD boxes Press "Select" This will not normally reset your TV code. Somewhere, in a land, far, far, away, I remember a teacher saying read the exam question properly before answering. Once I reset the remote by pressing "TV", then "Select + Red" until it flashes twice. then enter 999. the red light should flash once, and then twice. After that using your code above to set it to my version of Sky. it worked fine. Cheers. |
